for me, certain games just make it to my A-list and stay there, for many reasons.
if killzone is better than halo, fine, but halo means alot to me - the music, the cinematics, the physics, the all-night multiplayer matches, the bloody dolby digital 5.1 for god's sake!
killzone seems to be a bit different though, what with the squad-based style and, while borrowing certain things from halo (like weapon limits), i think it'll turn out a bit different, in that you could own both halo and killzone and play both, and essentially enjoy both.
as for bringing metroid prime into the argument - oh please.
it's a first person adventure - it's metroid in 3d. it's not a first person shooter like halo or killzone, thus can't be compared to them - sure it has guns but the emphasis is on exploration instead of all-out shooting. if someone was to set up a poll for killzone vs metroid prime you'd start complaining that they shouldn't be compared.
and prime didn't have a multiplayer mode because it didn't need one - again going back to the first person adventure layout. i see prime 2 wlil have one but i'm skeptical...
i haven't played much of prime (mainly because i don't have a GC anymore) and it seems too large for me - i have no time for big games now. heck, it's taken me about 6 months to finish halo on easy
however i love the look and feel of prime, and the graphics are really nice. i'd probably play it when i get a GC again (after my exams) but i doubt i'll be able to finish it.
so the moral is, i personally will still like halo more than killzone, even when it's released, because halo just 'strikes a chord' with me. it's like goldeneye - sure it looks bad by today's standards but there's that special something about it that keeps me coming back. maybe it was the license? who knows?
i do hope killzone strikes a chord too, as it's looking very nice, and i always enjoy a new fps anyway |

If it's a Halo-killer or not really depends on whether the developers rush this title or not. I hope they take their time so we can get our Halo-killer. |
