Gamecube hacked to play DVD-R homebrew!!

Gamecube to Play DVD-R
Well even though this isn't DS news we got official news that gamecube has been fully hacked to play DVD-Rs. Just a couple of weeks ago a mod chip was released by the Viper Team named GC Viper Mod Chip and then about a week ago they released a bios named Cobra. Aparently with a video and all the cube is fully hacked with this bios installment onto the mod chip. What will the big N think of this and what would they do to stop this?

Panasonic has already released a GameCube dvd player combo a while ago..

yeah thats been out for a few years now.
but $450? that is alot of money. i would have to see and hold it in my hands to decide if i would spend that much money on it. at first, i never believed that it was true, but i guess it is. But when will it hit north america?

Ok what i believe the first post is talking about is the Viper Gc (a usa reseller is www.The-Console-Corner.com and it costs ~$70) this is the first gc modchip which alows u to play backups, it essentially alows the gc to skip the barcode verification through a bios replacement,which is basically a brick wall against hackers. The other thing that was released a couple of years ago, only in Japan (i think) is the Panasonic Q (found on www.lik-sang.com for $489) which is basically a dvd player attached to a gamecube, meaning in addition to playing games it can play movies. U always can play full size dvds on the gamecube (for backups not movies) by removing the top of the gamecube. The panasonic Q i believe will not be released in the us. I also dont recomend buying the Viper Gc because it is extremely overpriced. Just wait.
