I see a lot of players on Kai nowadays, 1000s at a time which is nice Smile

Most are playing Halo 2 Sad

Lots are playing the Tom Clancy stuff Sad

The other games have people in the arenas Smile

For example Outrun2 had 10 players in the arena Wink

SW:BF had 12 players in the arena Wink

Counter Strike had 15 players in the arena Wink

MechAssault had 7 players in the arena Wink

Even MidtownMaddness had 4 people in the arena Shocked

BUT..............

No one was playing? I ended up either sat looking for games OR sat hosting them waiting for people to join Sad

In the end, I went to play Halo 2, again Sad

Come on people, what are you doing in these arenas??? Sat twidling your thumbs??

I agree...what I don't like are the people who sit in an arena and do nothing. Tricks me into thinking there are games going on.

I have the Halo2 fever, but I've been playing my other games lately. Mostly PGR2. I can never find anyone for CrimsonSkies(and I've never played this one online, so I probably suck, but I wanna try it anyway) and I have Rallisport Challenge 2, but can't seem to join games Sad

oh well...

best bet is to get lots more friends and communicate with them when online

You know that is a good question. But look at teh factors. Alot of them are overseas and probably dont speak all that much english. Alot of people leave kai running in certain arenas, which can cause this aswell. But I think we need to have a revival of some sort. If you want to play these games, play. But close kai down if your not

But its still a shame people either arena squat or just play Halo 2 Sad

yeah i like crimson skies aswell. TA-SS-XR had some fun times playing it a few months back. If you can schedule something that alot of people will be at, im sure u could get people to play. But its the motivation. Crimson skies 2 is coming soon to xbox aswell

I totally hear that. Last night we tried Crimson Skies, and there were about 10 other people in there, no one playing, just me and [H8D]DevilMAN.

There were some people in UC as well, but they weren't playing. Same with other games we tried.

We may as well amalgamate ALL non-Halo 1/2 games into one arena...

I don't get it. I never liked Halo, and still don't like Halo 2. It's too slow.

Anyhow, I don't think it's fair to tell people to get off of Kai totally, and the reason is that many of us Kai users have WRT54G routers or Linux boxes where the kai engine runs all the time, and we just connect/disconnect at will. I do think it would be fair to do *something* thought, whether that is connect on demand, timeouts, or forcing messenger mode after a certain amount of inactivity or somesuch. Personally, I try to go to messenger mode or into a general arena when I disconnect for the night so as to not mislead people as in the first post.

Anyhow. Yeah.

Which is why I think that kai should detect if you are running a router kai and 'hide' you from the stats after 2hour inactivity.

two hours is too long 15 minutes of inactivity would be better.

That's the only thing i didn't like, no log-off button. Gotta reboot the whole engine and everything just to change users. Not like it matters to most, but would be cool for the multiple xlink user households. Very Happy

afaik Logging off and back on without restarting isn't possible.. Notice how if you try to login with an incorrect password you have to restart the engine then too? Probably something to do with how the engine communicates.. or something Razz
