read this whole thread just now. Had the same problem last night. Another dutch kai-contact was hosting a game in a private arena within Europe-arena. We even got lag when playing with 4 to 5 ppl Sad
And i could only hear the host talking when in-game.

Everybody's ping was oke, but the host mentioned that for him the ping's of the others looked very high till even Bad.

If i can help in any way, just let me know. I so had enough of that host conversations with others in the game and me hearing half of their conversation only Wink

for get the mess mode man what we do is go into mess and tell someone to set up a room witha pass word.

the voice works well if your on the same orbital server as who you want to talk to.
if not just you have to set everyone that wants to chat to hosting.
this is what we do not is just set all to hosting and play.

Hey guys, just checking back in. From the previous threads, it sounded like The Daddy had a fix to the engine routing problem that is causing the chat issue. Last update from the admins was about 2 weeks ago for an autoupdate. I don't see any substantial followup. We have tried setting everyone to hosting mode, but it didn't seem to work for us.

Don't want to be a pest, but can any of the admins/mods give us an update?

Thanks.

Right now work is still on the DS stuff. We stated in another post that beginning 2005 (after we've gotten over the hangovers) we will be going full force with bug fixes, new features, blah blah blah hehe.. Don't expect anything between before 2005 though - there's only 1 or 2 days left, but expect in first few weeks of 2005 to get back into full gear again.

I don't think anyone is listening to Badman. The audio works. Plain and simple. You just make a room in americas like you should be doing. Right...Smile Don't deal with messenger and never make a game just in the Americas. Make your own room and whether or not it's password protected doesn't matter. Everyone who wants audio to work just needs to set their status to hosting when they join a game. If the game has started it won't work. So when the game finishes just set your status to hosting. This means that you need to set your status to hosting when you are in the main lobby where you are waiting for a game to start. If you decide you want to go to another room and join a game just set you status back to joining so that you see the games and then join it and set it back to hosting. I hope that everyone understands this and quits complaining. It works!!!!

It might work - but it's not supposed to be that way - we'll look at it early 2005.

Hey, sorry, haven't got a chance to test this out yet, just got a com but was wondering if this problem has been solved or are people still having problems even after the latest update. Thank you.

This problem still has not been resolved. Back in December this seemed to big a fairly high priority item, but it seems to have died. The link above doesn't address it either.

I can sometimes get around by setting to the host mode, but it doesn't always work and you sometimes can't see the other games.

Mods, how about an update and possibly getting this back on the priority list? It sounds like the cause of the problem is know, any updates would be greatly appreciated.

The setting yourself to host trick doesn't always work. Read my post here for a temporary fix until the problem is resolved. I'm from Australia and all my games are played in the Asia and Oceania arena, we have the same problems here.
