hey everyone im planning on purchasing a PSP pretty soon but i just had a few questions for yall taht have them already. now if i have a japanese PSP and my friend has a US PSP would we be able to play wirelessly together??? also, do any of yall know if the UMD movies are going to be region encoded???? and one last question, does it really work well on Kai???

Right - to quote what Sony have already stated:-

For games on PSP there is no region code. However, due to language and system issues, quality assurance procedures are done in each territory. Therefore, we recommend purchasing both the hardware and corresponding software in the same market/territory.

Now that thats out of the way, I dont see why a JP PSP playing a US version of ridge racer wouldn't be able to link up against a US PSP playing the same version. However, if you start mixing different version then you are opening a whole new can of worms.

I can definately answer that Sony have encorporated a region coding similar to DVDs for their UMD media however whether other companies follow this or choose to make their UMD movies without it (i.e. region 0) remains to be seen.

As for you last question, you can't really define an answer. For those people who their PSP already set up and play against people with a low ping will say its great. Others will say different. (personally for me and only having Ridge Racer and playing that online - its awesome).
