Okay guys, got hold of a KB11 USB Adapter so hopefully i will be of more use to the guys without Laptops!
Right, I've only tried it on my laptop so far with WinXP SP2 and it almost works out of the box - I was able to host a game and play just not able to join anyone's game without the connection timing out.
So a quick check in the Adapter Properties and changed:-
Preamble Mode: Long TX Preamble
RTS Threshold: 2432
Now works just the same as my WPC54GS without any timeout issues.
Post further problems for this card in here and I will do my best to help you guys out. (will be trying on WinXP with SP1 later - will update as i get results).
NB: KAI CONFIG!
KB11 users (and other users of WiFi adapters with "wireless" in the its name) will have to make sure you tick the "Dangerous NIC" in KaiConfig and then select your WiFi Adapter. |

OK this puppy works a treat, followed your guide to the letter and the PSP appeared in Kai and I was racing in minutes.
One thing for the more impatient amongst us, once you have loaded Kai give it some time to recognise the PSP.
I'm still a little unsure of how to Join a game, could you shed some light on that? Do you enter an Arena then search for games on the PSP?
Thanks
Sam |

I know you've already managed to get a game, so this is for everyone who is still unsure about how to get a game:-
Once you have ensured you have followed the guide:-
http://www.teamxlink.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5649&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0
choose one of the next two options:-
To host a game
Stay in the PSP's Ridge Racer in Host mode.
In Kai goto the Ridge Racer Main Arena then create your own sub-arena
Wait for people to join the Arena, once they have ask them to check if you have "1 Sony" (not always necessary)
Wait for people to then connect to your PSP (will show who has joined)
To join a game
In Kai goto the Ridge Racer Main Arena (join a sub-arena if you like)
Leave the PSP's Ridge Racer Host mode and then select the 2nd option down (and you will see a sonar style screen).
If your PSP shows 1 line of Japanese text then you haven't found any games so try a different Sub-arena.
If your PSP shows somones name with a Percentage next to it - you can select "OK" to join their game. |

I and a number of other users have found that in order to host again(after having say hosted a game, then joined a game) you have to:-
exit kai,
disable/ remove your wireless key,
re-enable/reinstall the key,
rehost in Ridge
Load Kai and start hosted game.
One user in particular seems to be getting round this, i.e. rehosting without exiting Kai, but wont let on how, can anyone shed any light? |

I put it in and installed the drivers but when i looked at teh connection manager it was not connected. I have no idea about wireless connects or that. It seems that after i installed it i could no longer access the internet on my pc . So i uninstalled it but still could not get online . So i had to format my pc . I was thinkin maybe my pc was tryin to connect to the internet through the wireless adaptor? how do i install this without mucking up my pc again . |

If you're hosting - try setting your arena status to 'HOSTING'. Otherwise leave it on 'JOINING'. |

How long are you waiting in Kai?
I found the first coupla times after hosting in ridge and heading to the ridge area in Kai it took a few minutes for my PSP to then appear in the diagnostics. |

Hiya mate,
Had a similar problem when I reinstalled my WPC54GS. My wired IP address was 192.168.0.8 and set my WiFi IP as 192.168.0.12 so Windows didnt know which one had internet access. So I gave it the IP of 10.0.0.2 and it worked fine. (make sure you arent having a similar problem).
Also dont bother with the buffalo WiFi Connection Manager, just use the Windows Zero Config. If you have any further problems PM me and I'll try to catch you online |

I'm still having problems, feel a right dork.
when i view available wireless networks i get a message saying:
no wireless networks were found in range
make sure the wireless switch on your computer is on
to see an updated list click " refresh network list "
click on this but nothing. |

Your Wireless Network icon is located under:-
Start -> Control Panel -> Network Connection -> Wireless Network Connection 1
If you dont have this then it maybe that it your USB stick was not detected properly OR it has been disabled. Goto Device Manager and look under Network Adapter to see if there is a problem.
Once you've passed that step, your PSP should be in Host Mode (for R/R) in order for Windows to detect your PSP. |
