Whenever I try to join games in Ghost Recon 2 about 75% of the time I get the message: "The game session is no longer available" when I know for a fact it is and soon as I go back to the "Game List" room I see the game I just tried to join?!

Anyone else encounter this prob, are there any solutions or things I can try to solve it? GR2 is a great game, I'd just like to be able to join games more consistently.

Thanks!

Yeah, I've had this problem before, but only a couple times. If the host hasn't changed their status, or they don't have a good ping to you, or if the wind isn't blowing in the right direction, seems like you could have a problem connecting (plus if that wind doesn't keep a consistant breeze, and the planets don't align, you may get dropped once the match actually starts). Not a Kai problem, just some foresite to the future of all ubisoft and redstorm games. Plus if EA buys them out, then you can say goodbye to the systemlink side of games in all future titles. LOL damn wind Wink Well I guess I will just have to rough it out...

So EA does not support system link games? Is this because they do not want people playing copies of their games on kai or similar tunneling software programs?

Thanks!

It's because they no longer care about the games, or the gamers, but it's all about the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

BRING SYSTEM-LINK TO FIFA 2006 OR I WILL BURN EVERY EA GAME YOU EVER MADE!

There's maybe 2 or 3 EA SPORTS system-link titles, and maybe 1 EA system-link title, out of a possible 30+ games. Evil or Very Mad

EA sucks anyway, their games are just crap. aside from the sims series, there are 0 EA games I'd be interested in.

Sometimes, but I just chalked it up as either a problem of distance, hence bad ping times, or a slow host. When I play with my friends who live nearby, the game never drops. I haven't had a game drop when I've hosted either (768 up) so I'd be hard pressed to find it to be a limit of the game itself. Software-wise, what kind of limit could you put on the output of a game? It's more or less just an application running on a server across the internet, right? From a server standpoint, if you were using a firewall or other bandwidth limiter, you could slow it down, but I've not seen too many software packages that specifically allow you to limit bandwidth for an application. SQL maybe, or something similar. I'm much more inclined to believe the problem to be one of network connectivity than software limitations. I could be wrong.

I believe, like others have said, that its Ping related. I have no problem connecting to games hosted by people with less than 120ms ping, but anything above 150ms is tough to connect too.

I haven't experienced a black screen or been dropped from a game yet, though I've only been playing for a few days (knock on wood)

i played a game the other night with a friend and his brother. when they both died, they both spec'ed me and that's when they got dropped with a restart message. i quickly assumed that that was the reason it happens, but i can't back that up with proof unless i can make that happen all the time.

that screen "RESTART XBOX" happend to me the other night.. but after reading these posts i have come to assume its ping related.. because i was dead.. and as soon as i touched the trigger to change and watch my teammate.. it droppen me.. then i looked at my kai screen and the host had a rediculois ping ... so im thinking connection was dropped .. ive been playing for at least a month and never had any problems at all.

and thats my two cents

yeah, I guess it may help to NEVER SPECTATE AGAIN!
I know its happened at my place tons of times, and it always happens when we spectate. wether or not were watching the same person, it will always happen when we press the right trigger.

i've had it happen in either case, but i seem to have more problems if i have more than one user on my xbox playing. So if i was by myself i dont normally get that problem, however if i was playing with a friend and one of us dies, when that person switches it sometimes happens.
