Having problems w/ Xbox ethernet port

I use a wireless router and bridge to connect my computer and xbox to my cable modem. I have set this up before, all linksys products, and it has worked perfectly for about 2 months. Now for some reason my Xbox isnt even detecting that i have a cable pluged into it from my wireless bridge. The bridge still works, i have tested it with other things and the wireless signal is still being sent, but i dont seem to be able to get a regular lan connection back between my Xbox and wireless bridge.
Has this happened to anyone before? any ideas on how i can fix this?

have you removed the plug from the xbox recently? i am a data/telcom field technician and there are 2 easy things to check first before you go off the deep end. just check out the gold pins inside the ethernet port on the xbox to make sure none of them are bent, or the connection on the ethernet plug you are using to make sure they arent dirty. if the bridge works with other things then it could be a damaged pin in your ethernet port on your xbox, but dont quote me. otherwise it may be another firewall or software issue which i am no good at.

If you didn't sound like you knew what you were talking about, I'd tell you you're using a crossover instead of a straight Razz

But yes - based on the info you've given, wonicles advice is best.
