hey,
i downloaded xlink about 2 weeks ago, and i've tried, and tried, and tried, to get it to work but it won't. i've read the FAQ and done the troubleshooter, and i don't know what else to do. i've even uninstalled it and reinstalled it several times! here's my problem. it says "looking for kai engine" and that's all it does. like it freezes. but it doesn't. i can't sign in or anything, so i don't know what to do. please help!

Did you run the "Kai Config Tool" before "Start Kai"? It doesn't appear so. Run that and follow the directions at http://www.teamxlink.co.uk/?go=quickstart to set up the Kai correctly for your particular computer setup. |

same happened to me. window looked exactely the same, but i was able to open config and did everything as told in quick-start. after i loaded kai (both, dash and win-gui) my network got attached with the correct local ip and also the orbital-thing worked -> icon in systray. in xbmc was nothing about kai to see.
anyway, in XboxMediaCenter.xml i found the hint, version 1.0 is not compatible with kaiv7... no i have 1.1.0 from 2005 and everything works fine.
make sure, you port-forwarded if you have a router. did you check the windows-installer-thing, mentioned at kais?? |

Tigerstyle go into the kai folder and edit the kaiuserConfig.txt[KaiUserConfig]
kaiUsername=*LaneY*
kaiPassword=********
kaiPort=0
kaiDeepPort=0
kaiAccept=LOCAL
kaiTimeout=NOUI
kaiNIC=0
kaiLaunch=BOTH
kaiHomeBrew=OFF
kaiWireless=
kaiUI=Default
change it so it looks like that |

Dudes get it both right - run kaiConfig.exe and see what you get.
I posted what I did above because he's not the OP - so how do I know he's got the same problem? |

...somewhere on kai`s homepage they tell you to check your current windows-installer, if you experience trouble... |
