live headset works in games that support voice... see games page for details.

as for dashes, it would only be in room, and thats before you launch a game.. but even that support is not available for the public yet. (modded boxes at that)

Jmel/teamxlink,

Once speex is implemented, could I be in the Halo arena in KAI, playing a game of Halo, and communicating with my friends over a PC headset? In essence, will I be able to use this to get around chatting with friends during a game in games that are not voice capable?

if the game is not written with support for a live headset, then it will never support a live headset in game. thats why speex support exists, to use your pc to assist you in voice communications with games that dont support it.

Jmel/Die-Hard,

I guess that's what I'm asking............PC to PC

Here is my setup, and my friends is the same........

I have KAI engine running on my PC upstairs hardwired to router. Wireless Laptop running UI. Xbox is wireless (doesn't matter for this question). I understand that you should be able to speak while in an arena. So, I'm in the Halo arena, playing a game of Halo, but with a PC headset hooked to my laptop. I should be able to chat during the game, correct? (edit to add clrification - We would chat PC to PC via PC Headset while in Halo arena, playing Halo on Xbox). So in other words, use the communicator for games that support voice, and use the setup described above for non-voice games.

Do I misunderstand when/how you can use speex in KAI from PC to PC?

Thx Die-Hard, that's exactly what I was hoping to hear. Heck, if it works as well as the Communicator, I can just stick with the setup descibed above for all games !!!!

Mind you, some people aren't close to their PC when playing so they can't do much.

Brilliant, that a great idea, was it e-bay or something? I think if it is that easy then more people would catch on.
