Continue getting "the service isnt conected, would you like to attempt reconnecting it with xbmc?" error message. Have the 1-15-04 XBMC build. I can connect fine using "Normal Kai Use" I've entered my username and passwords in Kai settings under xbmc=>program settings. I've tried both static and dynamic ip addresses on my xbox. I've forwarded port 30000 UDP to my PC. I've read and followed every tutorial/forum instruction I could find, and it seems as if these resolve everyone else's issues except mine. I'm starting to feel pretty dumb. Is there anyone who can help me? |

You didn't say what you put for Engine IP? Put the local IP of the PC running Kai - and put your Kai profile back to Engine only (for dashboards). |

I tried the Ip address of my computer and desperately the one of my router, but alas....
It's gotta be something simple and stupid, but I've checked, rechecked, and checked again 6 times. Any other ideas what this particular hangup lies around (also tried disabling Windows Firewall completely--no luck) |

Well, Kai *is* running in Engine only (for dashboards) mode right? |

try to delete the XBMC save game and then re-do the settings within XBMC (ie TAG and pass and engine IP etc etc)
cheers |

This needs to be put in the faq or something because (maybe a bugfix), I set everything right and was tearing my hairs out trying to figure this out. I could run games using the PC UI. But I cound't get the XBMC to load the UI. It was giving "the service isnt conected, would you like to attempt reconnecting it with xbmc?" error. How could it not connect if the computer could connect and I could play games that way. Anyway, I set all the setting correctly and nothing worked. Finanly I flipped my switch to go back to the stock microsoft dashboard, and went into the memory tab and scrolled down to XBMC, and deleted it altogether. I didn't think this would work because there were no save games in the XBMC section like other xbox games have. But I powered to xbox off and flipped the switch back, and reloaded XBMC, and entered my xtag and pw, and vwala! it worked. There is no reason for this to have worked, but it did. Oh well. I hope this helps other people out too. I was avoiding looking in the forum for 2 days. Dont know why. |

I deleted the xbmc save and it worked but like a minute or 2 later it disconnects again. In order to get online I have to keep deleting the save and even after that it only stays on for 1-2 mins the most. |

i had the same problem over and over again;"service not connected would you like to try again" message in xbmc trying to connect to kai. i spent long frustrating hours playing with different settings and in the end the only thing that worked was installing a newer version of xbmc. i did this by launching avalaunch on my xbox, select settings, select network, select downloads, in the upper right hand corner it gave me several choices, i picked install the newest version of xbmc and after downloading for a bit it self installed. really easy. as soon as it was done, kai worked perfectly, error free. |
