Kai as a filesharing service for XBMC?

i dont think scanning with a pc virus scanner would do anything anyway because it would only pick up virus's made for the PC not the xbox wouldnt it

Yeah I think you right there. Although an xbox is a computer too, a pc scanner still wouldn't work, because if the virus scanner didn't have the right virus definitions then the potential virus would slide right by undetected.

Considering you wouldnt be using a PC to scan a file sent to your Xbox anyway it hardly matters. If you need to check each transferred file via a PC utility it'd be completely pointless and there'd be no call for the thing in the first place.

Being a parent, I can imagine you being the internet-paranoid type who thinks (as you stated in your previous posts) that anyone can impersonate who they want to be - but then again, not everybody wants to impersonate somebody who would send malicious content to your xbox - especially people you have specifically added to your contact list.

If you add someone to your contact list and they send you a file that borks up your xbox it's your own fault. A little caution will go a long way.

ah well it all comes down to if team xlink feel like it needs to be implemented along with the XBMC team.
if it does some ppl will use it and others wont. i seriously cant see there being a huge call for it but hey who knows.

Mecca, first off I am not the paranoid type, I am trying to protect my children from harmfull content. Maybe one of these days in the future you will be parent yourself and ONLY THEN will you know what any parent is talking about. So please don't make any comments about parenting.

So tell me this, how do you know for sure without a doubt that the person your talking to is an honest good person. I am sure millions of other people would love to know your secret including myself because just chatting with someone doesn't give anyone a clue as to the person actual intent whether it be good or bad.

And just because you add them to your contacts doesnt mean that what you download from them is going to be legit.

Trying to protect your children from harmful content? This isn't fucking crack cocaine. If a file extention ends in .exe, dont download it. The main purpose (from my point of view) would be to exchange movies/trailers/public domain roms etc. Not something that will hurt "the children".

It's because of over-reacting, pessimistic and self-righteous peons such as yourself that America is at the brunt of the entire planets jokes. Get over yourself.
