Ok.. first thing first.
Boot up XLink (fresh boot).
Then go into GT4.
Go to Arcade, then Multi-Lan game.
Select to setup a connection.
DHCP enabled should be fine.
Then connect. If it works you should see "Waiting for connection..." screen.
If it doesn't work it will stop on "Connecting..."
Go to XLink click magnify glass, then the "folder" icon. You should see "PS2 Configured Successfully". If you see that XLink is finding your PS2.
Now it should connect to another person's game if you are in an arena.. but that is where we are having issues right now.
ALSO.. everytime you leave LAN mode you have to restart Kai before trying again.. otherwise it stops at "Connecting.." |

HAHA..
That was my problem.
The host has to go into the game and set themself as hosting. Not just in Kai
Testing again now. |

Alright some more things you guys should change.
Go to options.. switch to hosting if you are hosting... enter an In game name, and set Network Traffic to Light |

I powered off my PS2, powered it back on. Loaded GT4, started Xlink. Logged into Xlink, set my arena status and created an arena. Changed my LAN settings on GT4 to host and changed the number of players to 2 because I was going to race and I set my arena for 2 players.
Exited the GT4 settings, launched LAN, connected and waited for the guy in my room to do the same. We connected, I picked a track and we raced. After that race we tried switching hosts to get rid of the lag but it seemed to be just a little slow still. |

Ps2 successfully config, Reachable, Dchp enabled.
im goign to try naming my lan the same as my XTAG.

Ive Hosted successfully with 3 diff clients. Ive also successfully joined a Host.
However, Im confused about the setting within GT4's Lan options. Ive mostly read here on these forums, that you should set your #of Players to ONE, and not the total number of players to play. Thats set within Kai, when you create a Private Arena. So Ive always set GT Lan # to One, and had success in Hosting up to 3 players.
Apparently it doesnt matter? Or does it? |

I've hosted twice, the first in 2 player, worked great, hardly any lag (other player pinged in the 60's)
Second time did 4 player, other players ranged in 80-120 pings, pretty much unplayable..
Both times I hosted, worked flawlessly.
