You need to think of it per-square-inch .. in that respect, it destroys even a 15" tv

Get the DS for sure. I've played the PSP and DS for about 5 hours a piece now because lots of people have them at my college, two have imported PSP's for £200 and they are the better designed and look nicer IMO.
However, the touch screen for the DS is sheer heaven! Playing the mini-games on mario 64 DS is ace, because you have to use the touch screen you get lots of mates joining in and working together on breaking the mini-game records. IMHO the DS is miles better than the PSP. |

That was sarcasm, right? How can a few 5-second touch screen minigames win you over compared to the Screen of God? |

So...? It still has less pixels.
How about I give you a screen with one, really small pixel. Wow! Per-square-inch, it completely destroys even a 10" TV! That one pixel is amazingly small!
see what I mean? Less pixels = lower quality.
It's close enough that UMD movies should look fine, but you'll have to compress anything to fit it on a 1 GB card. |

When that screen only allows you to play PS2 ports, on a smaller screen than you normally would, while the DS has a fun to use touch screen and brand new games, it does compare
Handhelds are about games, not hardware. |

Hey chill out peeps lets not start flaming
Ive made up my mind, PSP is the way to go. This thread has helped me decide that although it may not be perfect it IS better than the DS in many ways.... |

I have already said i dont want a flame war here.
At the end of the day both machines will have a following. The PSP gets my vote over the DS, the main reason, is that it works on kai, and it has the games i want to play.
Yeah i know the DS will also have simular, if not the same games. But does it work on Kai? ermmm nope. |

if u ask me the superior power of home consoles makes those little lifestyle toys superfluous as hell. Why play inferior games, when owning a XBOX or a GC.
The only situation I can imagine using a DS or a PSP is while traveling with public transportation. I'm already playing enough when I'm home, so I guess I would rather pick a book then. |

Yeah books definitely beat the psp and ds they’re much cheaper and there is a much larger library to choose from. I highly recommend them. |

The online games will use TCP/IP just like the PSP, so why not? |

It always amazes me how threads can just totally change subject like this |

No it wasn't sarcasm - 5 seconds?
Just yesterday, some friends and I spent 35mins playing one mini-game to set a new high score of 263 . The PSP is the handheld to go for if you don't have a console IMHO. Ridge racer etc look superb, but will always be better on consoles, whereas currently there aren't any consoles that have a touch screen. Therefore imo the DS is better for people who own consoles because there aren't any origional and good games out for the PSP that I have seen. |
