When will this happen? I'm already bored with the XBMC intergration, its not as advanced because it only displays public servers and not private. I want to have a UI thats really mind blowing. |

According to TJ on xbox-scene's forums there is a good chance the release will be tomorrow... But there is no way to say it absolutely certain - but it's coming |

The XBMC integration is far from complete, so don't judge them on that. |

Hi everyone, this sounds great. Though I don't know exactly how to go about using it...
Do I just update my Avalaunch, then click on somewhere that says xlink? |

Palmster, I've never used Ava before today (UnleashX fan myself) so I'm still getting used to it, so forgive me if my descriptions of this arent great... In the settings - Network menu, you go down to the "XLink Kai" section, where you can set options (XTag, password, AutoConnect etc)
Once all the settings are correct, you need to start the kaiEngine on a PC on your network (just the engine, no kaiUI), and you're good to go. You can just click "Connect to kaiEngine within Ava, or Ava will auto connect when you boot your XBox, depending on your settings. Then you can just put int he game disk and play
btw, is there anyway to use backups on your HD? I'm using Kai on my dash so I can sit and not have to get out of my chair, but now I have to switch disks whenever I want to play a different game, which is gonna be annoying some days... Or is that not possible yet? Cheers |

You can do it.. In the games menu there should actually be showing now besite each title "( KAI 8 )" or some other number when the game is selected. The number is the number of people in that arena. Start the game and you'll be able to see servers running or start your own. |

Hmm, I thought I tried that and didn't see any # of players...
Probably I didn't then, thanks for that Riao, I'll go try that
EDIT: Works fine, cheers Riao! |

Anyway, when you highlight a game on your xbox press start and go to XLink Arena you can then change arenas add users etc...
use the d-pad to move through the arenas. |

this is really neat yeah, for those as confused as I am all it's really doing is linking up to a kai engine on your computer when a game boots and links you to the proper arena for that specific game.
It's not running in the background on the xbox, so no there is no additional headset support.
A very awesome tool though for those of us with xboxs away from our computers. |

Hence the purpose of SPEEX. Not sure if it's in this build, but the XBox Live headset will be supported. |

Hmm, I did an update of avalaunch. It restarted my xbox, then hung on the avalaunch start/logo screen... waiting for a few minutes still no change. Is the avalaunch start screen suppose to stay that long? |

I have to really give Ava props for this, the UI is just amazing and beautiful. When private arena use for ava gets added ill be even more happy and I think they should add a text input to send messages to the arenas so you can actually respond with people. Yes, I know there adding headset support, but I think that would be just as cool. Kai intergration in Ava is a little buggy, but in time will be great. |

mkjones - Yea it is Y. I press it before taking the keyboard offscreen, and it works fine so far... Try pressing it while the keyboard's still on screen, before you do anything else |

It sounds like something went wrong with the update. I was using version 0.48.4 (I think) before updating to 0.49, and I was unable to update at all. It shouldn't have just restarted the xbox on its own. I manually upgraded to 0.49, and after that I was able to use the dash to upgrade to 0.49.4 |
