Can't we just agree that both DS and PSP have excellent titles coming out this year?
Anyway, with Nintendo going more into online now, does this mean that Kai will support the wi-fi games, since they will need to use a standard 802.11b wi-fi protocol to communicate with wireless routers? |

I'm hoping so- every online title will have to use TCP/IP, therefore it should let it be tunnelled as easily as the PSP.
But the online titles will...uh, already have online capability. And since you don't need to pay, I don't know if a lot of DS owners are going to need Kai, other than to play with their buddy list. |

NBA Street - Port.
NFL Street - Port.
Need for Speed Underground Rivals - Rehash with all the same materials and engine.
GTA San Andres - Port
Rumored So-Com and Everquest - Port
Metal Gear solid - Metal Gear ACID, not Solid. And it's a CARD BATTLE GAME, not a Metal Gear game. Anyone who buys this deserves what they get!
Gran Tririshmo 4 - Port. And you mispelled Turismo.
Wow! Two new games in your entire list, and one of them is a CARD BATTLE GAME (NOOOO!!!!).
As for the ports, I'd rather play them on my big screen, wouldn't you?
I want different games for my handheld and console.
I'll probably buy the PSP in a year, when the price goes down enough that it's LESS than the GameCube was at launch, and it has higher capacity batteries. For now, I would rather get a system with completely brand-new games for $30, that has new ways of playing, rather than buying the extremely expensive PSP, with games that cost $50 and are the same things I can play at home. |

so what if there ports half the Games comming out for the DS are ports too even if there online. And this Year we Ds owners might get like two online games compared to the whole slew of online games for the PSP. |

Yeah, right. There are THREE ports for the DS. Count 'em, three. Super Mario 64 DS, Rayman DS, and Ridge Racer.
All the rest are original titles and sequels. |

Not port. It's a sequel and has online play.
Not port. It's a new MK game.
Not port.
Not port. It's a new Madden game.

Not enough info to know yet, but NFSU 2 is a GameCube game, so I HIGHLY doubt it could be back-ported
DEFINITELY not a port. SM2 for DS sucks terribly.
Not port. New VJ game.

Ah, 4 ports out of all the games scheduled to come out in 2005
Still doesn't do anything to my point.
Are you sure it's a port of Madden 64? I thought it was a new rushed launch title that sucked worse than the 64 one. |

Yeah, but Kai's interface is cool, and you can do so much more than you would with just a router and a Kai-type inferface on DS. And who knows, once they've done the standard wi-fi protocol, mabye they'll move back to working more on ni-fi. |

I don't think you'll need software, because Iwata-san said that you can link up to regular wireless hotspots anywhere. So I'm thinking there'll be some sort of user arena list when you enter online mode when palying the game.
And Kai's interface is much better than anything will be on the DS (looks more tidy, far more options etc.). |

Say all you want about DS online play, but like everything about the DS, it doesn't exist yet and probably won't for 6 months. And when it does, of course, it will only be supported by 1 or 2 games, and will gradually fall into obscurity, just like GC online support.
The PSP's online support, on the other hand, has existed since its launch, is supported by 5 titles with more coming, and works perfectly. |

Don't be ridiculous. The only reason online gaming with GC fell was because Nintendo didn't support it; they believed it wasn't what consumers wanted.
DS, on the other hand, is being fully supported by Nintendo. |
