WELL HERE ARE THE FACTS:
Nintendo DID NOT - I REPEAT - DID NOT- Sign ANY deal with gamespy. They said in an interview from Gamespot that they were going to use hotsopts. Meaning most likly a peice of software on your computer or local cybercafe that will allow this. If It is the cybercafe route, then I will just plant a transmitter under a desk nd have wifi outside where i do not have to pay for it.
METROID PRIME: FIRST HUNT WILL NOT HAVE INTERNET.
Another interview from GAMESPOT also said that MP:H would be LAN only.
XLINK KIA would be the PERFECT program to use with the Nintendo DS. I belive it was once compatable with It and i am wondering what happened to the suppor on the program...
Now you know.
Teh L33t masta is NEVER wrong.

That's the actual scan from Nintendo Power, that reported it originally. That's all the information that sparked the "Nintendo and Gamespy" rumors. It's kinda crpytic, it just says that GameSpy will deliver dev kits.
I actually wouldn't mind GameSpy. Most people keep thinking GameSpy Arcade. GSA sucks.
Thing is, all of GameSpy's integrated solutions rock. UT2k4, Jedi Academy, Star Wars Battlefront, Battlefield, etc, all have built in server browsers- all of which are Gamespy-provided! The built in server browsers rock, but GSA itself sucks if you use it on its own.
So as long as we don't get a GSA port for DS and instead get GameSpy's integrated server browser for games, I'm happy. I use it all the time.

So you know, Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt is the name of the Demo. The full game is just Metroid Prime Hunters.
As for Metroid Prime Hunters, its in question. It originally was LAN only, but after GDC they BUMPED BACK THE RELEASE DATE to the same month as Animal Crossing (which is confirmed online), so it's a possibility that they bumped it back to include online play.
But there is absolutely no certainty.

They never finished making it compatible and decided to forget about it, because they (I know they're gonna kill me for this, but its true) mostly became DS-hating PSP fans. |

i agree i don't really care for my DS right now either and will probly get a PSP but what if Nintendo really does somthing with the DS maybe it's still only the begining of the handheld wars. |

DUDE! this program is all about making the conneting of consoles through internet possible. I do not see why you should descriminate against the DS just because you like the PSP better... |

hmmm, how about the fact that they couldn't do it, all the losers blaming hatred of the ds don't see the fact that team xlink knew there was no point wasting their time on the ds.
It is to damn hard to do when you've got a community, a huge gaming network, orbs, and bugs that need fixing.
and the amount of bull that was going on in the ds section aswell.... |

Seems that you might be confused on what a moderator does. Since someone felt that your remark towards TheDaddy (stupid) was inappropriate, they removed it. And now it has been removed again by me if that helps. |

You truely do hate the DS, yet I have no idea why when you have played both the DS and PSP... For me it is stupid that you are turning into a DS hater, because surely the aim of Kai is to tunnel games for free - like the DS can do...

I don't know what he said, but I doubt it could have been that bad or he would have been banned... Surely if TD can insult the DS then he has to be willing to accept some backlash? |

True because metroid prime first hunt is already out. Its the name of the demo that came packaged with the DS(actually the name is Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt.) The Actual game that MIGHT have online play is just Metroid Prime Hunters. If you look on IGN or nintendo it says that First hunt was put out in nov 2004 and MP Hunters isnt due till like after the 2nd qtr. The thing is games that are out now arent written to use the Wifi. they are written to only use the multiplayer Nintendo's Prot.
I know people are against the DS and yes the PSP has the superior hardware and software but this doesnt totally kill of the DS. PSP sales havent been as great as sony thought it was gona be. Im not saying it didnt sell, it sold a lot but when i have went out to the stores i have seen several PSP sitting there in the display case with several kids and young adults ( including my self) just drooling over them but they dont have the cash to get it. When the DS was launched you couldnt find it anywhere. I was lucky to get mine. But due to sony's new law suit the profit that they would be getting from the psp sales are canceled out with the 90.7 mill. They will sell more when they bring the price down for sure.
But where did you find the info about Nintendo not teaming up with game spy? |

1. Team Xlink DID make it, they had DS-tunneling working, however, only on very expensive hardware.
2. Some of the mods/admins/crew are behaving just as bad as normal users (fanboy remarks etc) GROW UP!
3. It is NOT Nintendos or Sonys job to make their hardware easy to hack/make things it was not intended for, thus STOP screaming on Nintendo for not using normal WiFi in their LAN games.
4. About what games that will or will not have real WiFi, lets wait until e3, it's not so far off you know.
Think thats all for now (or maybe all forever, if i get banned ) |
