I was just wondering about the general theory about how this would work.
I assumed I would buy a Broadband adapter for my Gamecube and a CAT-5 cable. Then I would simply connect it to my computer via a networking port on my motherboard. Since my computer connects directly to the modem via another network port, I assumed that once I connected, I would be able to simply play online then.
Am I right? |

Well, it depends. If you computer is connected directly to your modem, and you don't have anywhere to plug in your cube, then you'll need a router. If there's an extra place to connect your cube to, then you're good. |

You would need a crossover cable if you were connecting the cube directly to your PC. |
