Halo 2 patch coming out (fairly important)

magnums were one of my fav weapons. with the new update they are weaker if you are not hitting headshots.

Yeah but punching people hurts more now which is cool cuz punching people is fun. Neutral

Does anyone how to get the update if you are not on live? Apparently it is stored as a simple game save...maybe someone can upload it to http://www.xbox-saves.com/

If you can wait untill june u can buy all the updates, and all 9 maps for 19.99 instead of $50. The maps are 5.99 each and they will be relieced all thru out the summer. It be better on the wallet if you wait.

i was just saying how its ganna change the game completely pretty much...dont no if im ganna get the update unless it becomes like manditory to play in ladders and tournements

As far as compatability goes, the forums over at XBConnect said that the versions are completely compatible. If the host has updated then the rules used are the updated version. This should be the case here too since it's all the same System Link.

Just beacuse some people like the diff combos, dont start all this noobish bullshit.

i like the plasma pistol, does this make me a noob?. 9/10 times, you get used to a certain weapon, you like it, you get kills with it, so you use it.

here are my comments after one day with the udpdate.

grenades are stronger and deadlier now, and more ppl on live are throwing them

battle rifle is stronger, and the pp + br combo is better because of that.

magnums still are alright if u dual wield, but are weaker

i personally dont like the change but if it is better for the game than so be it.

I really like the changes the grenades are still a litle bit weak but the melee is finally powerful! You can now do something against a guy with a sword and I love the BR now Very Happy

It also seems to run a litle bit smoother in Pal60 but that could just be placebo.

No skill. What does that even mean when all your doing is pressing buttons and pushing a stick around in circles. At best all you got over a noob is muscle memory that comes from repetition. Thats not skill man dumb luck is better than that.

Sure Opera 8 is TeH ShItE it was even more than I expected it to be Very Happy

After playing Halo 2 for some time I can say that it looks a litle bit more balanced and I love the new melee boost Very Happy

It definly feels more like Halo 1 and imho that's a good thing.

Now if the could only find a solution on those campers ....

Nah,

Opera was the first with Mouse gestures (opera 5.0) and tabbed browsing (1.0, back in 1992(?)) so it's more like Firefox being similar to Opera.

After playing some more I can definly say that this patch is a huge improvement, you just don't notice it but it makes the game a litle bit ''faster'' you have to think more and act faster.

This is the game it should have been, thanks bungie!

Hope it wont throw off my skilz too much.
We have about 11 people on my floor in college that play halo2 and they all, on ocasion play on kai with one of the 3 people who have kai in their room. I am either 2nd or tied at the best on my floor. Names of some of the players are:
Cpt Sparrow, Cannon (me), berzerker, Kash, killerT, Big M, Meaty, Ocelot, and Q. What we do is you have to earn your name on the xbox you play on.

Okay, I finally got the Auto-Update and we did some basic testing last night.

We've found that if the Host has been updated to v1.1 of Halo 2, then everyone who joins (even the 1.0 players) will automatically have the gameplay of the v1.1 Halo 2 Host.

So the updates are cross-compatible depending on the host.

I have yet to join a 1.0 game to see what it's like, but it seems that the gameplay will dependent on what version the host has.
