Why is it that while playing team slayer everybody can't hear eachother.
For example 3 players 1 2 3
player 1 is host
1 can hear 2 and 3
2 and 3 can hear 1
2 and 3 cant hear eachother
Anybody had this problem?
Any settings im not aware of? |

That happens sometimes when you play on LIVE as well...very odd...its something on each users end thats not compatible for the "Every direction connection" while gamplay goes through the host...or something like that. I just got a pile of it when it happened...oh well its slayer just stay together. |

You're saying because their network card is on half duplex not full duplex? That would be amazing if that is indeed the problem, but I doubt it.. |

Similar problem here. Playing team slayer on Halo 2 any map and the host can talk with their team in team and proximity chat and opponents in proximity chat. However, opponent team members cannot speak with own team members in either proximity or team chat. This appears to have started within the last few days.
We have tried switching hosts, etc. and no luck.
Any ideas to fix this issue would be much appreciated. Thanks. |

Until there is a perminant fix to this problem, try this out, it work for most, but not everyone and not all the time.
After the host has set the game up(when you can see it in kai that is) one person join and set their arena status to host. Once you see he is set as host the second person can join and then set his arena status to host and so on, until everyone is in the game.
I found this out thanks to my dodgy internet connection that keeps dropping out. I noticed I couldn't hear anyone while I was in a game, except the host, even if everyone had changed their status to host. My connection did its trick of dropping out on me and when I rejoined the game, presto, I could hear everyone that was set as host. Tonight I was playing with some of the DAF Clan and some of AKZ Clan and tested this theory out. It worked for most, some people were still unable to hear each other, but it's alot better then it has been. |

just make sure ever is set to 'yes I am hosting' before starting to count down to the game. should work.
so setup a game, get everyone in, then all set to hosting, then start the game. |

Doesn't always work here
It seems to be random if it works but perhaps the new Halo update has fixed this. |

This is a very frustrating problem. Just about all of my team mates are having this same issue. Everyone is able to hear the host and the host can hear everyone. But other team members can't hear each other. |

Wait, I anwered this question in another thread that was the exact same question. Why do you do that? I hate it when you either are too lazy to search or you create multiple threads about the same thing in different boards. Please look the other thread for my response. Your lucky I'm not a mod because I would come down hard on you for this annoying jesture. Anther thing is, this is in the wrong boards anyways. This is not a help board.

So lets see, you berate people for not using the search function, when in fact this thread was here 4 months before the other thread even started. Hmm. Also your "answer" to this response is only your assumption. Which I happen to think is wrong. |

This happens on XBL as well as Kai and I am sure anything else that runs Halo 2 and connecting them. Sometimes on Live I have to reboot my XBox just to hear the others in the room. |

Well does anyone know what happened? Up until about February the communication was working fine with other team members. We didn't have any problems and then suddenly we all started having problems. I didn't see any major Kai updates at that time, but something had to have changed. This problem makes it almost impossible to play a team game and is especially frustrating during clan matches when you can't talk to your team mates. |

Have you tried pressing the White button before speaking to team mates?
That works for us. In normal Slayer though it's only proximity chat |
