Few moments after announcing the Nintendo DS was clear already: This equipment is for Onlinegaming as production! Nunja, at least nearly... Nintendo already confirmed the more frequent one that the NDS on-line will go. After the hobby developers of the team had given Xlink up, we must wait now evenly, until Nintendo develops the plays officially as on-line plays. Today there is a small report (article) over the plans NINT DOS and hopes of the Zocker.
thats a translation for the link. |

So, is the article hinting at possible online play for Advance Wars DS? |

I think he's asking if its true that XLink gave up. In which case, YES. |

It will not. Ever. Sadly.
However, Nintendo will bring out online DS games later this year... |

Just curious, why did Kai give up. Was it to do with programming problems? |

They got it working with a limited hardware set, but then they adopted a "Nintendo DS = for kiddies" stance and ran off with their PSP's and decided not to bother finishing or even releasing the code.
And they get mad whenever someone points it out, so, um...I'm dead |

yeah there was only one usb wifi adapter that worked. But im thinking about that driver that someone wrote that would let you run homebrew apps on the DS via download play. Someone needs to test this theory out with kai. So far people "said" it wouldnt work but no one has tried. If i am right when you download something you are sending data packets to the host and recieveing them from the host. and the host is sending and receiving...right? Only assuming that the DS download play and the multiplayer signal is the same which it verry well could be because when using download play normally you would download software from a ds that is in multiplayer mode. Here is a link:

Seriously we need to test this. But i dont know if the DS code is still in kai ( ie TD might have taken it out due to frustration) But maybe if we ask nicley we could be able to test it with kai. |

The code is not in KAI..we tested with a different version of KAI, further more the new version of the driver works with a different card. I asked Tim if this new driver would let the DS be tunneled more easy, he said no it's only for uploading code.
So it won't help people ....but the good part it we go online soon officially by Nintendo's online service.
I am looking forward to E3. |
