Confirmed on Nintendo's Site that it will have up to 8 players system link.
Seems just like mario kart exept with crash bandicoot characters.
But it does sound like fun. You get to run around on foot. It seems like its a Twisted metal Crash racing game. |
Sweet, finally another LAN game. I really hope they optimize it for high pings, though; Nintendo's LAN games have historically performed pretty badly when tunneled. |

Im excited about the Out-of-Car Action. It says: "Explore the entire world on foot - collect upgrades for cars, unlock bonus tracks and talk to other characters."
Chat with text or use with the Mic from Mario Party 6 on LAN.
Before they never called it System Link. Nintendo Calls it LAN. Has anyone seen if its GCN exclusive? This could be just what was on a press sheet. But isnt it up to devs if they want to use the BBA or not? |

Calling it syslink is worrying.. smacks of a "we just cut and pasted the xbox info" to me.
However, we will find out soon, I'm sure. If indeed it is proper LAN, Kai will support it from day one.

Not unless they have a lot of time to write BBA libs. According to something I read (don't remember where; I think it was at Warp Pipe or GCDev), Nintendo doesn't give out BBA code in their devkits; Sega had to write their own. That's why you don't see many third-party BBA-compatible games for GameCube.
I am also concerned a bit by their calling it "system link" rather than "LAN." But I'm hopeful. |

Here's some reassuring news. According to http://www.tothegame.com/game.asp?id=698 , Crash Tag Team Racing "features split-screen multiplayer for up to eight players with system link on all consoles." Looks like we will have another LAN game. |
