Metal Gear Acid Multiplayer - How come no one ever's playing

O.K. I'm rather new to kai, been using it for about a week (Had my PSP only a day or 2 longer).
I've had numerous games of Untold Legends, and 1 failed attept at Lumines (It's a shame it doesnt work without an insanly low ping).
I'm kinda board with Untold, though I'll get back to it later, and figured I'd play my 3rd game, MGA.
I personally love it, and I've just gotten far enough to unlock multiplayer.
The only problem is no ones ever playing.

Is this due to some problem (Like with Lumines), or is it just unpopular on Kai.
Whatever the reason, I wanna try a game.
I'm in an arena, right now, and have the game running and detected.
If anyones up for a game, just reply here and join.
If I'm gone, just post a time to play here, and I'll try to check back then.

Hopefully this will work out...

I have metal gear and I really dont c anyone in that room so I really dont bother.................I'll be around though cuz I play alot fo ridge racer. If you want to play just look for me in the ridge racers arena

If you are looking for an MGA game, I would normally be happy to hop on Kai, but due to some weirdness in my work schedule and the fact that I am moving in just under 2 weeks... I won't be on Kai regularly until I get back online after the move (gotta call up the ISP and get them to install it).

Well, looks like we might get a little more activity for MGA now that we have what... 4-6 people interested? I suppose we could pull off a game or two doing this. Smile

you have to realise that the 4-6 players are probably in different time zones and wouldnt all have the same leisure times...anyway a couple of u might get a game. I doubt the activity for this game is that big basically because its such a piss poor game and the fact people would realise its so bad before they unlock the multiplayer, unlocking multiplayer in my opinion is the most stupid thing ever

I'm sure that we all just need to stop having our own opinions and playing Lumines and Ridge Racer more, right? Rolling Eyes

Sorry, I can concede that this game was a love/hate proposition, but to post that sort of game-hate in a thread of people trying to just get a game together and enjoy it? For shame man. This isn't the place for it, honestly.

I would say it isn't as hard as you claim, considering I have played against a couple members of this group before. Wink

each to their own, i dont have a go at these people for liking the game...i have my own opinion on the game yes. i dont like this game because it isnt a proper metal gear game, it just doesnt deserve the title.

it IS a proper Metal Gear game....just at a much slower pace, that's all Razz

.....also, you unlock multiplayer when you come across a new playable character in the game...it'd be kind of wierd to already have the capability to play with that character and not know who she was....

Would it be possible to not hijack this thread into a debate over what defines "Metal Gear", please? It is already rather tiring getting out of those debates on the game discussion forums elsewhere, when it doesn't get anyone anywhere.

I've tried Metal Gear Acid yesterday with some guy in germany (I'm in USA), and I couldn't get it work.

The problem seems that Metal Gear Acid uses two different SSIDs for multiplayer game. One for the lobby and one for each game. Lobby's SSID is always same, but in-game SSID is each time unique. This mechanism is also used in Lumines/Darkstalkers, but I think(hope) Metal Gear Acid shouldn't require such a low ping to run multiplayer games. So we still have a hope dude.

Unfortunately, my opponent didn't have a router based KAI (it manages Lumines's changing SSID), so we couldn't test it further. Does someone who has WRT54GS(Ahman's firmware v1c) wannt to try with me?

you dont need the wrt54g for changind SSID, just do a search on the forum for SSIDMGR....that works.
