everything works with my xbox i hit play with my xbox when i think i logged in to a group to play and then it loads my game so i can play.
But what i want to do is play the people that are hosting it. What am i doing wrong

Isn't that what everyone wants to do?
Go read the XBMC guide and you'll realise that you're not supposed to touch XBMC until you have worked out how to use the PC and got it working and playing games. Once that's done, follow the XBMC guide (check the stickies in this forum).
