Well I've succesfully configured my cube along with my mate only to find out that my NTSC machine and his PAL machine cant connect together. Sad
I was wondering.... What would happen if I used the PAL game and a freeloader disk? Does anyone know if this would work or could it be the broadband adaptor? also does anyone know if there is a physical difference between the PAL and NTSC adaptors and could you use them in any machine?
Any help would be appriciated Smile

it is a simple feature to put in...but yet useless...to have a decent game of mario kart you need like 50 ping. if you are playing someone pal vs ntsc then thats not going to happen and its not fun to play like that. so yes we could add it and it will be one of these days.

I'm presumng you mean the ping will be bad against people in another country? but I have an import machine and wish to play against my mate who isn't far away and both of our pings are around 30 so I think it would be an advantage if Kai allowed this.

No, at the moment I have an NTSC version but I was wondering if it would work if I got a PAL version of the game and used a freeloader disk. Do you thik this will work?

The region of the Cubes shouldn't matter for the LAN region lock. AFAIK GameCube games running under the Freeloader cannot detect that they are on another region, so only the region of the games should matter. So if you use the Freeloader and the regions of the games match, it should work fine. Assuming that both Cubes are running at the same refresh rate (50Hz/60Hz).

But don't hold me to that; this is just based on stuff I've read online, I haven't actually tried it.

However, if I were you, rather than go buy a new copy of the game, I would just use Warp Pipe until Kai supports region-free (that is, unless you can't live without Kai's better speed).
