Adding new contacts

Adding new contacts isn't working!
We would want to bring together all xlink users from ours country but it is impossible due the drawbacks of messenger mode!
Mainly because you cant see the the other player in messenger mode if he hasn't added you in hes list, now we cant ask them to add yours name to their list because we cant find them!
it is getting extremely annoying, xlink has no tools to contact them!
Seriusly no one hangs out in messenger mode chatting.
There are least 40 players near us and we have no means to contact them!
CANT SOMEONE DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT?

well i dont know whats wrong with the messanger mode but you can add each other to your contact list by pressing the add button at the bottom of the forum post. So just start a thread in the lan section of the forums and you can all post there and add each other through the add button.

But WHY make it so dam difficult! why cant we see if someone is online or not, simply just by adding them to our list! Surprised

Then all guys from eg same country could play together withuot SO MUCH TROUBLE!
nobody reads those forums! they just wanna play!
playing would be more fun if you could find people near you FAST!
XBOXCONNECT HAS THIS KINDA OF FEATURE! you haveto pay for it tho...

for one... u might want to settle down with the exclaimation points. the other reason might be people dont want you to be on their contact list - just because u want them as contacts doesnt mean they want you.

if your friends with someone its very easy to add them to your contacts and vice versa

i personly like how the member has 2 b on both friends lists for each other to show up

i dont want some random kid fallowing me around lol

and if you have people living around you that you have no way to contact there kinda are things called the phone...aim...MSN..yahoomessenger...walking

theres other very usefull resources

Maybe they don't like you and don't want to add you to their lists? You can always send them PM's via the forum or look up their profile page and contact them that way.

Yes there will be contact addition notices (looking in the DB I see the framework is still there), but all things UI have been pushed to the side a little to get GeoLink set up, then the UI fixes (there's a big list) will hopefully get done.

plus, if you all play the same games, you'll probably see them on roughly the same time as you, get in there and chat & ask them to add you and vice versa.

NO guys seriosly...
i live in finland.. in finland neighbour = people livin 20km from you!
i cant drive around just asking them to add me to their list.
i aint talking about friend, im talking about people who live in same country.. we dont play same games and therefore [b]its is extremely slow to get all finnish players united![/b]
someone said that they dont want some odd people following them around, WELL we could have somekinda of ban button so those odd people would not see you... Laughing

IF all eg finnish guys could find each other they could play together!
just small lag, no people quitting in midle of capture the flag, all speaking same languange! = F* GREAT GAMES! Surprised

many in here finland can write english, but anybody cant speak english. Surprised

i think what you basically asking for is geoLink.... right? because that is supposed to help users find other users in their area... so just hold on.

Although I don't agree with the way he is presenting the problem, I do feel his frustration.

I set-up a Halo 2 tournament at Internet Cafe in Calgary Canada, and encouraged everyone to practice through Kia (this way they could see the competition before they showed up). I thought everything was fine till I started getting emails of ppl who said I was always offline.

It is my hope that notification is soon, (I haven't heard about it b4, but there’s mentions in this thread). The reason I state that this is important is ppl want to find good game right away. And I probably have 20 ppl who have me on there contact list and don't even know.

So to clarify (and make sure I understand) The ppl you add to contact list MUST add you as well, and they will never know if you added them to your contact list. So it is blind contact adding. Just to clarify.

Anyways I think Kia is great, keep up the great work.
