Lost Beyond Belief

Hey all. I am in serious need of help. I have a PSP, with Untold Legends, a Linksys WRT54GS Wireless Router, a desktop pc with a wireless pci card, Windows XP, and I have followed this and many other guides on successfully using XLink Kai - and unmistakably failed all. I am open to any suggestions, or help, but I will not download any firmware or programs that will alter my router or wireless settings - I would rather do it in person (meaning that instead of a program screwing my computer up, i would rather do it myself). p.s. - this is one of the major problems that I can get out of this: i switch to ad-hoc mode in windows wireless network settings, the router pics up the psp, when i connect to the psp network, i lose connection to the orbital server.
