DS VS PSP

im sure they do but i dont really understand the reasons behind people wanting a ds? its a good console etc but it just dosent seem to have anything over the psp, the psp has better graphics, films, music, but the ds dosent seem to have anything better i find the touch screen difficult to naviagte games with and i dont understand the upside to it as whenever i get a game for my pda the first thing i wanna do is use the buttons. and i dont see the use of backwards compatibility of gba games as the only thing they seem to rival is snes or nes.

Just because the graphics aren't as good as the PSP's, doesn't mean the graphics suck full stop.

the ds is very different than the psp
if you want all in one media device get the psp
the ds is not pushing a media thing its trying to push inovative gameplay

DS is good but PSP is really different league, it's much better!

Simple reasons why DS is better:
-More and better RPG's. RPG's are the defining feature of a console to me and many others.
-It's the same price in japan and USA. Sorry sony I'm not paying a $65 premium because I'm not japanese, bring it down to $185 like in japan and then I'll get it.
-Backwards compatible with GBA is a great DS feature, I never got a GBA and now I get to play all those RPG's.
-2 screens and touch screen ARE a great idea, especially for improving the RPG genre Wink

-Sure sony has online too, but they aren't going to get online Final fantasy: Crystal chronicles online Wink

And yes, I do prefer PS2 to gamecube, and have no interest in xbox, because of the RPG factor, I'm no fanboy except to squaresoft.

Wow...i have never met a chick as you put it, thats attracted to me because of my console.

If its not the DS vs PSP, its the Xbox vs PS2, next it will be Xbox 2/360 etc vs PS3.

The on going battle will never end. All systems will have there following.

i agree soon we will be comparin ps3 and xbox 2 but comparing ds and psp is like comparing ps2 and n64, no comparison agree?

Not really. As some reviews have pointed out: PSP is a more powerful gaming system, while DS is a better portable.

It's more like comparing a thin-and-light notebook to a desktop replacement notebook.

Not much of a comparison at all in terms of graphics and capabilities. XBox blows away the PS2 in terms of graphics and capabilities- PS3 blows away the XBox 2 easily in terms of graphics and capabilities.

But PS2 buyers perfer PS2 games over XBox games, and XBox 2 buyers will perfer XBox 2 games over PS3 games.

As for the chick thing, a lot of people on other boards have mentioned how girls see the minigames and say, "oooh, let me try!" with the touch screen.

Fair point on the girl issue with the DS.

Yeah, but the PS3 is coming over a full six months after the XBox 2, and is rumored to have a higher price point as well, so it's only logical that the later system has the better graphics.

Further, we already know PS3 is using Blu-ray (50 GB per disk) while the XBox 1 is using DVD's.

The XBox 1 also loses it's hard drive, and has no backwards compatability.

Actually, the XBox 2 specs are the official numbers given to developers, while the PS3 specs are under wraps except that Sony said it'll have the Cell processor, an NVidia graphics card, and Blu-ray (that's all the official info).

But yeah, either way, can't wait for E3 Very Happy

I like the DS more. Dual Screen is awesome! And the PSP costs too much anyway...
