your network reachable? Yes
Are you using a port-forward? Yes -DI-624+ Private I.P. is the computer kai engine runs on, protocol both UDP and TCP, Private port and public port 30000
Is your console being detected? yes
Brief description of your network setup: DI-624+ wireless router but PC running engine and xbox are both linked physicall with RJ-45 cables (not crossover) Ports on router forwarded as above. Router gives out static I.P.s to both the xbox and PC.
Do you use a software firewall? What brand? Have you made any changes to it? Sygate personal ver 5.5, rules added: IP 0.0.0.1 all ports and protocols allowed, IP255.255.255.255 UDP ports 3074 remote and local allowed . Enable driver level protection unchecked.
Operating System? WindowsXP Pro + SP2
Problem description?

I can connect and host fine, my friend can do the same.

He is on a Mac and has set up his sytem to the same network options as me on his router. But when we host the other can't join the game. I host a game others join but he cant see it and vice versa.

Yet we can search for other hosts and join someone else's game together.

Were both on the same ISP (telewest blueyonder) in the UK and live about 4 miles from each other so it shouldn't be a ping problem.

He tried setting up his Mac as a DMZ in his router and his game briefly appeared to me but it could not connect, it hung on the joining screen.

Thing is earlier in the week (wednesday) we played together no problem, then for the last two nights we havn't been able to host for each other.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

it is not much of an help to you, but i'm having the same troubles with 2 of my friends with the same isp and live within 1km of me. Other friends of mine with same isp and live much further away don't have this problem of hosting and joining to me. So it seems it has something to do with the isp network. I'd like to know if there is a solution for this problem, or going to be in the next version of kai?

Static IPs to ISP?
Any IP conflict message?

Add Sygate rule for Xlink UI and Xlink Engine - allow on all ports and protocols for all network adapters. Do the same for Router Firewall.

Post IP settings for PC and Xbox for You and Your friend.
