Yeah, I had a feeling that someone was going to confuse this with a 'skillz' video. This was just a 'for the hell of it' video using previous video captures, really, just for messing around.
As you may have noticed, the popular way to cap game videos is to first videotape the scenes as they are played, and then convert them to digital.
What I did was to directly capture the gameplay without use of a videotape.
(IE Xbox's composite out--->Video capture card.)
Capping a vid in this way forced me to be able to play in a small video window, only 352 by 240 pixels in dimension.
Normally, when I am playing, I don't suck as it were, but neither am I at the very top of the list (rarely). This is when I am playing at the entertainment center with a decent size TV, as opposed to the 352x240 video capture window (a limitation of the WinVDR program). Thus, it become much more difficult to actually play while capturing (hence the apparent 'lack of skill').
But then again if one wants to make a skillz video then videotaping is probably the best way to go. To get an idea of how small the window was that I was trying to play in, while capturing, note the XLink banner at the very top of the page...That was about how wide my video window was while capping these clips. The bottom line is that I am 'not too bad' when playing with the TV, but I am 'not so good' when forced down to a 352 window.
And sorry about that; I guess I wasnt aware that there was a rule on video making that states 'Only make a skillz video, and nothing else.'
I just thought some of you guys would get a little amusement out of it, even if it is deviant from a skillz video. Oh well, at least I got some video editing practice in so it wasnt a total loss.
Video Capture card is an Asus TVFM 7133 PCI. Works great with Div-X 5.xx capture with a decent mobo and at least 512 MB of DDR/PC3200 memory.
If every single person who played multiplayer Halo2 (or any other systemlink game for that matter), were super-skilled, wouldn't it get old, like, real fast??
So much for having a little fun, killing time.
I try not to take myself too seriously. |

Yes, i am quite good, but tell you the truth. i really don't like the play the game very much except at LANs. thus the reason y me and friend started www.neolan.us
And a matter of fact. Each of those videos is footeged all from 2 day for each of them. So it's not like it took me and week and 20 hrs of searching just to get the good shots.

Nine Inch Nails - Hand that Feeds
And Racer823,
I figured ut wan't one ment to show skills, but just ONE suggestion. Don't repeat things so many times, it gets kinda old fast.
And i think u need to just relax a bit. they were just giving there opinion. Think of it as advice for future movies.
And in case anyone else asks... my capture card is a VCR.... i don't like playing my XBox on my computer screen... for some reason i don't do as well |

Video making award goes to Racer. It's a much better video than JOee's.
Hands-down. |
