this album is horrible. the one good song is (sadly) the radio single BYOB. instead... get the new audioslave album. or wait for the new coldplay and foo fighter albums Smile

I don't like System of a Down. I'm really more into the ''heavy'' or ''classic'' stuff not really into that modern day Metal (with expectation for some bands) and I prefer Black Sabbath over any modern heavy metal band. I listen to a lot of bands (list available on request Very Happy

) from a lot of difference genres but I just can't seem to find any new music that fits my taste. Feel feel to recommend some though.

It's hard not to compare System of a Down with some other albums that were releases recently and I have to say that SoaD's is the one that scores quite low. Also the lyrics totally sucked but that has never been anydifferent with SoaD.
Just compare the lyrics to Black Sabbath piece of art ''Heaven and Hell'' and you'll see what I mean. The music seems to be so ''plain'' so ''meaningless''.

The only recently released ''mainstream'' metal I liked was Marilyn Manson ''Antichrist super star'' he just invited a new way to tell a story to a public using music. Sure the lyrics seems to be pointless at first but they most certainly aren't. Other than that I do like some small band's that had some small hits in the past years but never really broke through (fortunately they still make music Very Happy

I actually agree... tune out the death part, and you're left with some pretty sweet metal.

Yes its a real good album. I was the first to get it at my local Sam Goody store. The songs are somwhat dificult to play just because they are reall fast. Audio/Video is one of the easier songs to play.

I wonder how soad comes up with their lyrics.
"Its a violent Pornography, choking chicks and sodomy." When i figured out what it was i laughed for a while then i realized that they are saying there is nothing but crap on TV which is true. I also reserved Hypnotize comming this September. I think they recorded almost a total of 30 tracks for this double disk album. Bands that stay gone for along time come back with better songs. Soad did, Greenday did but when metallica made St anger it wasnt as good as their other albums.

Dolfin did you know that Black Sabath would have sounded entirely different if one of their guitar players didnt loose some of his left had fingers? He worked at a steel factory and they got chopped off. He had to Lower his guitar down an octive so pushing on the frets wouldnt hurt his nubs. I cant remember who it was.

Can I put in my 2 cents? There was an ad for this on TV and it reminded me of l3laze's thread - the whole thing scared the shit out of me. I don't get the shouting into microphone deal, so that's all I have to say. Confused

I agree Raf.. well, sorta. Some metal is ok - most is really, really poor. SOAD is poor imo. TexLink is more into metal anyway, so ask him..

As for me, I like proper music Very Happy
