I try to start XBMC and it kicks to this screen:
XBMC Fatal Error:
Q:\XboxMediaCenter.xml, Line 0
Failed to open file
Init network using dash settings...
IP Address: 192.168.1.101
Starting FTP server...
FTP server running on port 21, login: xbox, xbox
It then stays on that screen with no way out but to restart the machine manually.
I am totally new so help would be appreciated.
Also Im using avalaunch any suggestions?
Also network wise:
cable modem-WRT54G-network cable to x box and wireless to my pc |

This has nothing to do with Kai, however, your problem is most likely that the file doesn't exist (you didn't upload it), or you uploaded it to the wrong place, or it's gotten corrupted.
FTP in and see what you've done. XboxMediaCenter.xml must always reside with the XBE file, although you can separate the rest of the XBMC files by setting the appropriate paramenter for the <HOME> tag (it's up the top of the XML file, but you only need this if you run it as a dashboard really, so you keep the main files off C). |

Yeah, I had the same problem when upgrading to a newer build.
It doesn't always include the needed xboxmediacenter.xml file, so if you do what I use to generally do ..and delete the whole XBMC folder and make a new one, you lose that important file.
If your running a bigger hard drive, and used something like Slayer's ....your find that your have a copy of the file on your F: drive under Apps still, of the old build... ftp and copy it over! |

Or it can be that there is a syntax error in the file. For example, if you modified it to change some paths, and for some reason a ">" is missing.
