Funny thing is, did anyone see this?
http://psp.advancedmn.com/article.php?artid=1441
Nintendo Revoluton @ 42.2%
PlayStation 3 @ 39.8%
Xbox 360 @ 18.0%
now i ain't no fanboy i'll buy all when i can and have done in previous. but how the f**k Revolution get the 1st spots, when we don't even know much about the console. Hmmm maybe the Japanese TV and press showed more info about Revolution then rest of the worldd seen, cos they don't want others to copy them, as we all know Nintendo are the "real" creators when it comes to console & games and most of the time their ideas get stolen all the time ?!?!
and this is a intresting found the link in x-scene.

^ funny as well |
One thing they stole from nintendo was the rumble pack.
The thing is about the pic is that as time went by nintendo had competition. There werent any companies that could compete with the NES, SNES had the Genesis (sold more than snes) n64 had playstation and a little later dreamcast then gamecube with ps2, xbox and dreamcast dies off. Im more excited about ps3 than xbox360. The mtv thing was a let down for me. I figured it would be a live event and not taped the weekend before. They generated hype too early and it the hype was gone by e3. Who wouldnt be excited about online smash bros or downloading Nintendo's entire Gaming library? But seeing the poll numbers shocked me i figured ps3 would be top. |
Nintendo actually has a very good point about copying.
NES = first with A and B buttons IIRC.
SNES = first with shoulder buttons.
N64 = first with analog stick, first with rumble pack.
Some interesting points about the N64 era:
PS1 did not have analog sticks or rumble packs at launch. They later released the "dual shock" controller that copied the N64's analog stick and made the rumble pack built in.
The PS2 carried this over and the XBox copied it.
Nintendo was the only one who licensed the rumble pack technology, so Sony and Microsoft got their butts sued really bad for that $40 million for Microsoft, $90 for Sony.
So far, Nintendo HAS been copied whenever they come out with a controller so I can understand the need to wait.
Though I'm glad they're finally using someone ELSE'S idea and going online, finally |

The sales make sense, when the NES came out i dont think it had ANY competition. Everyone and their mother's mother HAD to get a NES, it was the shit, color graphics, with huge games. Duck Hunt + Mario Bros = killer. After that the SNES got competition from Genesis and Saturn and the N64 had to deal with the playstation afterwards. I dont think i remember anyone that had another game system over the NES. lol |

Back then, Nintendo pwned Sega IMO. Sega was a little ahead of its time and i think thats what killed it besides no one buying their systems. The game gear was about 15 or so years more advanced that the gameboy was exept for the batteries it ate. Color, a light up screen that you could use to see in the dark with. Dreamcast was a good console too but their incription on their games were horrible. It is so easy to copy them, or so i have heard. |

I think saying the cartooney games were crappy was a bit harsh , but cutesy stuff like that just bores me, like something a bit more mind taxing and dark rather than about reactions & jazzy fun.
The gamecube is capable of delivering so much more, yet was wasted I feel .... be nice to see Nintendo pushing the console to a wider audience. |
