Megafake. Guaranteed.
Quick point: A dual 1.8 GHz G5 WOULD in fact be on par with the other systems. The XBox 360 may have three processors at 3.2 GHz, but those three processors lack AltiVec and many other G5 advantages, and are in order which should make the performance per Hz FAR, FAR less than a G5.
However...
A dual 1.8 GHz system right now costs a FORTUNE. Further, there is NO WAY they would use a G5 processor. A customized PowerPC based on the G5 perhaps, but it would be a new specification (G5 is the PowerPC 970; and G5 is the Apple brand term for it. IBM calls it the 970. Nintendo's documents would refer to it as the 970)- even the Gekko processor in the GameCube, which was based off the G3, was customized enough to have a new name.
In fact, the high performance of a 1.8 GHz G5 system would work against it.
See the two white things labelled "G5"? Those are the two G5 processors. Note the SIZE on those things. I've seen these systems in person, they're gigantic. They also generate a heckuvalot of heat (that's why Apple is getting Intel processors; the G5 is absolutely unfit for laptops. Great for a desktop, but for small form factor computers and laptops its too big and too hot). It would be completely impractical for a 1.5 inch thick game console to have TWO when Apple can't fit ONE in a 1 inch thick laptop that is far wider and costs $3000.
Next. Bus speed. On true G5 processors the bus speed is always half the clock speed unless underclocked (check Apple's PowerMac lines. Dual 1.8 GHz PowerMac had 900 MHz bus; dual 2.0 was 1 GHz bus; dual 2.5 had a 1.25 GHz bus). 1200 MHz is too high.
GPU is reasonable, but the 12 MB of 1T SRAM? Sounds like a fanboy trying to outdo the XBox 360 by giving it the same graphics card, except 50 MHz faster and with 2 MB more SRAM.
6 GB HD dual layer disks? Uh, what? Nintendo already said it CAN read dual layer DVD disks. While its possible it could read DVD AND a next gen format, there's no way they would use a lesser format. Why would they sell games on 6 GB disks when the system takes 8.5 GB disks already?
"When combined Rev CPUs equal 3.6 GHz"? This is completely unprofessional; you cannot, simply CANNOT, add the clock speeds together. No spec sheet would have this listed.
What the heck are CPU/GPU and RAM ratios?
And ALL credibility is lost when he says "PC code to Mac code". Uhm...yeah...

Pretty much all agree its fake. |
