Its definitely a blast playing RR or HSG on xlink, even when i was playing UL on it its fun if u can get away with no lag. And i see all these xbox guys on here, how can we make this PSP community on here grow? Start posting on more PSP sites about the xlink community is a start but I think everyone feels its to hard to get it up and running....

Well it's not an "official" method of playing your PSP online. If people wanted plug and play, they wouldn't be at this site in the first place (they'd be willing to pay $$ to Sony), or expecting it to be TOO easy. That all being said, I would still rate the whole thing about a difficulty of 3 on a scale of 1 to 10 (for the PSP).

Hope nobody takes offence, (and this is a rash generalisation) but if you can't work out how to setup Kai, then you're not going to have much fun playing games where you always lose Very Happy

haha, sad thing is it really only takes 10 mins to get online, and 8 of that is driving to the nearest store to buy the wrt54g Smile but seriously if we keep posting on psp forums about the great fun we have here maybe others will follow....

i have tried and tried to get people to use xlink with their PSPs but it seems that everyone is too lazy to get off their asses and buy a wireless adapter and put in the effort to do the set-up correctly.

I’ll do my bit and mention it on some of the UK PSP sites I visit.

The problem then will be us Brits who have US version of games and not being able to play against others with EU version. Unless this isn’t an issue…
Still I don’t for one second regret importing a Japanese PSP in March. I’ve got used to the Japanese menus on Ridge Racers!

I’ve only played Wipeout online. Going to hopefully try HSG this evening or Ridge Racers.

Seriously, the WRT54G with custom firmware is the closest thing to plug-n-play support you can get for Kai... and it is pretty close.

What we really could use to get it truly plug-n-play though is hacking a little further into the WRT54G firmware to turn it into a box you can just plug into your network, configure it, and use it. Of course, the problem here is that it would ruin the router functionality, which some people are dependant on.

it's funny because i use my D-Link DWL-122 for Kai and my wife sometimes works from home with her laptop connected to my WRT54GS wirelessly.

she makes 6 figures so i'm not about to screw up her connection just so i can play games online!

Heh, that is why I have two routers. Wink

I was looking at what would have been the best solution for the Mac users, and in terms of cost it is either a USB adapter out of a VERY limited list... or the WRT54G by itself (which is still cheap).

If there was a homebrew app just like xbmc on the xbox where u dont need ur pc on if u have a wrt54g. Now that would get a load of new xlink members! but probably isnt possible Sad
