My Xbox is totally fried, and my PC has the same problem.
My Xbox doesn't load the DashBoard, and the PC I was going to use for online gaming doesn't load the desktop!!!!!!!!!!
Now I need to save up 500.50$ for a new PC and a new Xbox!!!!!

I think I can make it work!!!!
Ok, I can't get to either DashBoard or Desktop. But, you don't need the DashBoard to play online. I also found out I can press, "Ctrl+alt+del", and I can run the XLink program, and connect to the Xbox. I think it just might work!!!!!! |

CTRL + ALT + DEL.
Task Manager.
File -> Run
C:\Windows\explorer.exe (or whatever your Windows install dir is)
Sounds like you've just got some spyware or something. |

I ran two spybot searches and turned up 278 bad file I also did a Norton Antivirus scan, 11 infected files, could only delete 1.
Ok, I got Internet access, but I still don't have the desktop!!!!!!!!! But do you need, "Broad Band" to play Xlink online? |

Just reinstall Windows or install Linux, as for the Xbox, is yours softmodded? |

It used to be softmodded till I acidently deleted the Mech Assault game save. Then it wouldn't boot to the dashboard, and I don't know the IP address. |

That can easily be fixed by a simple hotswap, I did it myself 3 times and it doesn't take me more than 10 minutes to do it now. Try to read a litle bit about it on Xbox-scene.com it's an easy procedure that unfortanley does require some Linux knowlendge and some basic hardware skills. It also requires you to open your Xbox. |

You don't have a copy of your EProm lying around? I always mail those to myself using Gmail, comes in handy.
Anyway you can try an hotswap which is basicly the same expect that this time you have to switch the harddrive from the running (and powered on) Xbox to your PC. It's fun! (if you're a geek :O) |

I recommend creating a Knoppix Linux boot CD if you have a second PC. It lets you boot and fully run Linux off the CD without actually installing anything, and return to normal as soon as you take the disk out. You can try to track the problem, or just play games in Linux |

duct or electrical tape is the answer. glue doesn't have the durability. |
