unable to locate game automatically

I have (almost) everything up and running
I can log on on both PC and XBOX - I cann join arenas and all but I keep getting the error "Xbox Media Center unable to locate game automatically"
All my games are in the F:/Games dir and xbmc is setup accordingly

why can't i play any games????? PLEASE HELP

you ..

A) need a new version of XBMC

B) have the games path wrong

just so u know tho you don't have to click Play in the xlink section of xbmc to play the game, you can back out and go to my programs and it will still work ..

does kai work on your pc without xbmc ?

games path is set to F:\Games

oh and kai works on the pc withoput xbmc. only kai doesn't detect xbox

Doesn't that mean you haven't gotten Kai to work without using xbmc? Confused

kai doesn't detect the xbox ?! .. you have bigger problems to fix than the games not launching automatically :] .. u have to get your xbox detected in kai on the pc ..

load halo2 .. go to system link .. it should be searching for a game .. then check kai to see if it finds the xbox .. if not, exit kai and load the kai config , select your network card instead of autodetect .. rinse and repeat the first part .. if that doesn't work close all software firewalls and disable any antivirus you may have running ..

let us know ..

hold on there people.... when I said kai cannot see xbox I meant that it cannot see xbox if i don't run kai on the xbox

everything works fine in kai apart from the fact that i cant play

I have updated my xbmc no and from the games tab it now sees 1 game but still wont play it

so u can't load halo2 and go on kai and play ? .. take xbmc right out of the picture, load the pc version .. can u play online is what we are trying to figure out ...

if you are talking about the kai games screen, then you do know that you have to have a save game of the game you want to play to show up there. and if it is the actual xbmc games screen, either your path is wrong, or you might have a space or character where it shouldnt be

Make sure all your games are in the F:\games\ folder. That is the default setting for XBMC, I always have to add G:\games\ to my path, since I have bigger HD.

Just because the play button doesn't work, doesn't mean you cant still play. Use XMBC to go to the arena of choice, do ingame reset and launch game. Your computer is still in the arena even though you reset xbox.

not even that, just hit back and go to my programs, assuming u have the paths to your games set up in there , you should as XBMC is the ONLY dash for the xbox :]
