Is this problem just with Pefect Dark.. or do other games experience this problem too.
As for solutions, we gotta figure something out. I don't wanna be forced into using Xbox Live. This can't be left out in the open, we gotta start thinking of something.
Common people lets put our heads together and solve this problem. |

Ya, it's the game not the tunnel.. There are a few older Xbox games like this as well (Links 2004 comes to mind). Short of breaking the encryption on system link traffic (which would probably be illegal and utterly exploitable by cheaters) I don't see how it's possible to fix. |

So are you saying that this ping restriction only occurs in certain games, or all of them? |

Its typically game by game on the Xbox, Ubi use a netcode dubbed "Lighthouse v1.0" (a ping limiter) which was first seen in GR2, and then in Lockdown but interestingly in GR2 SS the ping limit didnt seem as extreme. |

So is it possible to get rid of this limiter? Or even through the eventual modification of the 360. If not for LIVE than at least for System Link (Xkai)?
that sure would be great. |

why do companies even use ping limiters?
is it simply because they dont want people tunneling their games? |

not sure but i know it's not entirely because of tunnel apps as even LIVE has it. reason they have these ping limits is that, if someone joins a game with low ping, they can messup ping for the rest of the players. but as game like GR2 it's useless, cos low ping everyone drops |

Is this low ping or high ping? I have a hard time believing that for GR2. We've played several US to Europe games with pings reaching into the 200 ms range before with no problems. |

Yeah, 200ms is right around the upper limit for GR2. |

Ping limits will kill tunnels. look at the gamecube lan games its nearly impossible to play them with out a super fast net connection. I still get lag when on a t1/t3. If you were to hook them up with tru system link there would be no lag. To create the lag that you experience you would need like a mile long cable. Look at the bright side, better games wont have ping limits (halo) and you dont have to have a credit card for live anymore |

Entirely related to Live and its matchmaking. |

The gamerzone has nothing to do with system link. Cuz u can connect to system link games without having to signin to live |
