Thanks optimum for the upgrade but at the same time screw you for not giving me my full 15/2! We all need to be thanking Verizon for starting the east coast bandwidth wars.

If anyone has optimum boost lemme know if the 30/2 is working out for you.

You might want to check your routers. If you should be getting over 10 Meg, there is a possibility that the external (WAN) interface on your router is only allowing 10 Mbps. I know of someone who gets 30 Mbps and has to use a PC Firewall because his router cuts him at 10. Who knows, you might be faster than you think.

I would suggest running a speed test on Cablevision's web site. With Boost I get 28.045 downstream and 2.0731 upstream. Speakeasy.net and Testmy.net both underreport the bandwidth - I can upload and download faster then they say I should be able to if the server has the bandwidth.

When they did the 15/2 upgrade, I turned my modem in and got a new one. Many of the older models can't keep up (see below). I just brought my Surfboard 4100 to my local Cablevision store and asked for a new one. They gave me a Scientific Atlanta DPX2203. At these speeds the router can also come into play - try running a test with your PC hooked directly to the modem and see if it's any different.
