Maybe they contacted Xant to make a fake news rumour mill type story Razz

Maybe they meant that they made up the story and tried contacting TD about it and if he didnt respond then they'd assume the story they made up is true and good news. Laughing

I doubt this would be true, Team Xlink have had a very honorable stance against any paid service from day 1.

I would expect this from XBConnect but not these guys Smile

Call it what you will people but I am sure faced with the same great oportunity that most of you would stand up for the challenge.

Not everything is about money, not everything has a price tag. If you can make money at something that you love doing then I say got for it.

Why not? I can't think of anyone who deserves it more then TD.

hmm, well thank you for the clarification on that one Gunslinger... maybe I read it wrong... or maybe it was just the replies. Then again, I am not on the inside now am I? I hear basically second hand news and what second hand news is really real or true?
And, I still stick by my thoughts and feelings that money does change ppl... it doesn't always have to be a bad thing now does it?

Don't be confused about the news, folks. Kai is free of cost and free of banner ads as it always was and will always be. The news post is about a completely different project for a new system specifically tailored to the PSP with, what I am guessing is, commercial backing.

What does this mean for XLink and Kai? Absolutely nothing. Although the outstanding compitence of our developers, designers, admins and mods may lead you to believe we are some corporation, we are, infact, a homebrew project maintained and developed by gaming and Internet technology enthusiasts. We cannot afford a 1-800-KAI-HELP line, staffed 24/7. We cannot pay graphic designers and translators to keep the site content fresh and polished. We all chip in what we can because it's a fun pastime and we enjoy being part of something bigger then ourselves.

I'm sure some appropriate compensation will come TD's way out of this new project, but it is the PSP owners who will be the richer for his contributions. I fully support TD's latest undertaking. For many years, Andy has been mastering his craft and we've all been the benifactors of his freely contributed time and efforts. Now that he has honed his skills, he is looking to hang his own shingle out for the world and maybe make a little money doing what he loves. I say do it, m8, no one better for the task!

To all the people writing nasty replies, why don't you go play on another tunnell. We will send your refund asap.... OH WAIT you have nothing coming to you do you?

If this news is true then I must also admit that I wish the best of luck to TD and hope that it's a complete success. For a bloke that's done so much for free, he deserves it.
I must admit, at first I was a bit apprehensive as to what this would mean for Kai, but now I see that it shouldn't affect it in the slightest - Kai is community driven a lot now. If it wasn't for the developers, however, we as a community would have nothing to drive.
As you know, TD has resigned. Now I get the impression that this was why.
Am I right? Wink
