For pointless reference, my laptop (which sits next to my 360) is connected wireless to my router, which is a fair distance away (too far for an ethernet cable). I want to connect my 360 to my laptop, via their respective ethernet ports, so that my Xbox 360 can share the laptop's internet connection.
But whenever I try and enable Internet Connection sharing under my LAN card's properties, I get this message:
Why is this? Is there anything I can do to remedy this? It would really be alot easier and cheaper than buying the over-priced 360 wireless adapter (£60!!!).
Thanks in advance. |

wouldnt you need to use a crossover cable to connect directly from a computer to an xbox, unless you have a switch between or soemthing |

You don't need to enable ICS to get Xlink working. Just hook the 360 to the laptop via crossover cable and you're good to go. |

Yeah, I was thinking that, but it seems the 360 channel is a bit...well, empty of players. ^^;
I was trying to set up Xbox Live.
By the way, I've got all Network components installed under the Add/Remove Programs > Windows Components option in the Control Panel.
Looks like a refreshing of Windows is in order... |

Yeah the "ping limit" issue puts a bit of a damper on 360 gaming here...I just assumed that since you were asking in the Xlink forums you were trying to use Xlink.. |

Yep, I came from there initially - I follow the steps and get the error message.

Heh, easy mistake to make - I wasn't explicit in what I was trying to set up. ^^; |

My college has to give one of my friend's dorm room a higher bandwidth inorder to play the X360 on live. |
