LAG!!!!

has anyone here played ANY gamecube games online WITHOUT A LAG??? i have only played Mario Kart Double Dash with 3 persons and EVERY TIME IT LAGGED ALOT!!! WHY??? does phantasy star online also lag?? Question

Please, don't overuse punctation and emoticons! I mean, think of all those poor, homeless authors from Bangadesh whom can't afford punctuation and emoticons, and here you are wasting them!

Anyway, the GameCube LAN games lag on the Internet because they just weren't designed to be played online. On a wired LAN, 2ms of latency is considered a lot. On the Internet, you're lucky if you have 60ms. Since they were designed for a LAN, they assume that your latency is low, so they don't bother to use any predictive measures, since a frame of data is 16ms anyway -- over 8 times the 2ms value I mentioned. So, when the games are played with more than 16ms of latency, the game slows down, because it's waiting for the controller data to arrive.

PSO and GCARS-CS, however, use network code designed for the Internet, with predictive measures, so they can easily play with little lag at 100ms or more.

I have had a full game of MKDD with no lag before. you just have to find someone who is really close, and your conenction has to be awesome. I played someone in MO and who had cable and im in KY with a T1.
