I wont. Educationall or not, all it does is allow you to pirate games and I have this strong standing against piracy, in case you didnt hear. |

this guy had some hope ( http://devo-e.com/dvdhax/ )... but now he's using the same old bullshit... |

Ya, redwolf I read your comment on XS. I want to learn how they did it. I also want to find out if their is anything left to expose... It seems that only a small group is trying to run homebrew instead of releasing to the masses and getting a whole community to try run homebrew. Agreed? |

Just to be clear on this hack,
THIS HACK DOES NOT ALLOW FOR HOMEBREW SOFTWARE TO BOOT. ONLY COPIES OF GAMES....
That's why no one wants to release it. They dont want the down fall of the 360 to come so soon just because the public can and will pirate games with a hack that only allows to boot pirated copies. |

Of course Superman, but I must question how far they have gone with this firmware hack.
In regards with what I said, "DVDHax"

Well, good question, obviously there would be legal issues if i released a full how-to on patching the firmware, but there is nothing wrong with making adapters, and dumping and writing the firmware, but once this kind of thing is common knowledge, there will be alot of releases and firmware for you mods out there… but this kind of thing, finding hardware, building stuff for it… its very very fun and very informative…
but once im done you will have access to your firmware, and your own adapter… so… wat more could somebody ask for? i pay for my games so, a firmware hack is useless to me… hopefully somebody will find a flaw in the firmware to allow unsigned code. doubtful but who knows… hey maybe microsoft will allow homebrew sometime soon like ps3 and rev.

I read that MS was gonna release cheaper versions of the developer kit in order to allow for homebrew stuff. Only for USD100 if I remember correctly. |

Meh. Software companies lose the right to protect their copyrighted software when they charge upwards of 80 dollars for it. Its the samething as music cd's. 20 bucks for a music cd? Blow me. If its 10 dollars, i'd buy it, but paying 20 bucks for a 25 cent disc? I don't think so.
Besides. I've never bought a copy of XP... and they still sell the shit for 150 bucks. Maybe if they focused more on reducing the price of their software, people wouldn't pirate it as much. As it is now, I've got no problem pirating software. I've never paid for a game... and until they stop charging 50/60/70 dollars for a game... I never will. |

Ignorance................
You have no idea how hard it is to create a video game or the resources required. Nor do you understand how hard it is engineer software from the ground up to do such amazing things. Resources just for developing software easily run me a few hundred per quarter.
I will pay for my software, CD's and DVD's all the way. I've got a major problem with pirating software. Software companies gain the right to protect their copyrighted software when they charge eighty and upwards because IT's THEIR FUCKING SOFTWARE THAT THEY WORKED THEIR ASSES OFF TO CREATE.
I challenge anyone who pirates software to write software itself to do the task they want it do. Then come back and see how smart mouthed they are about, "they should charge a few dollars for it tops". |

Yeah, i hear both sides of the argument. The way i look at it, is this.
If the software is worth the money, its priced at, i will buy it.
I think MS has hit the nail on the head, with XBL market place.
Take fight night 3 for example, i downloaded the demo to play, enjoyed it, and went out and bought it.
Same goes with a number of demos i have played
At the moment, most games are, what, £49.99 over here at the moment, the new ones anyway, well with the exception of table tennis, thats priced at £29.99, a bargin in my book, multiplayer value for sure! Plus you can always buy pre-owned games etc.
Yeah the big companies are making big bucks, as long as there is software, there will always be "Pirates" Its something they will always have to deal with. As much as there is always a thrill (i imagine) of getting the hottest latest title for free, nothing beats having, the box, the instructions in your hand, and looking pretty in your collection. Well maybe thats just me.
All those who have, the modded firmware for the 360, dont start crying one day, if you suddenly find that your 360 wont boot or something. Dont expect MS to roll over, and do nothing about it. They will be quietly watching the scene. |

I have to agree with JiffyWhip on this. Software is to expensive so are games its much easier to just download it. |

According to this logic, I should steal a Mercedes-Benz if I can't afford it? |
