As the title says really. Kai works no problem with normal use and i can play multiplayer Halo2 no problem but XBMC just wont connect to it. I set it to accept incoming connections from any IP as well (dashboard use only). The problem i'm having is there's loads of info on networking with routers but i've got a usb broadband modem and cant find any info on it. I wondered if it was anything to do with my Xbox not being able to connect to my pc's internet connection. I'm having problems networking it. (Again, lack of info) An example is i cant get the weather function working and cant see RSS feeds. I also read something that said if you delete the XBMC save in the original dash then it'll solve the problem but i've got a HD that doesn't lock so i cant do that. I looked for the save in UDATA and TDATA but couldn't find it there either. My settings are as follows:
PC:
IP:192.168.0.1
Subnet:255.255.255.0
Gateway:blank
DNS:blank
Xbox: Network:
IP:192.168.0.2
Subnet:255.255.255.0
Gateway:blank
DNS:blank
Xbox: Xlink:
Engine IP:192.168.0.1
Username:Filled in
Password:Filled in
Xlink settings:
Dashboard use
Kai port:0
Deep port:0
Close engine:Never
Accept UI connections from:Any IP address
Network adapter:Autodetect and lock
Also, I've tried lots of different variations with filling in gateways as the engine's IP and with windows firewall on and off. Even tried port forwarding through windows firewall but to no avail. The more i think about it the more i think it's to do with ICS but i'm not sure. Anyones help would be appreciated. Sorry for the long post.
P.S I have had it working before but not since upgrading XBMC to the new version with XBMC 360 skin.
Thanks |

Well I just pasted all the new XBMC files over with Flashfxp and overwrote any old files So i never kept any old files. So i just had to input IP's and such like. Is that what you meant? |

That was the first thing i did mate. But it's not the fact i cant play on kai. Because i can. It's the fact i cant do it through XBMC. I definately think it's something to do with my PC settings. Does anyone know of the settings to use with a usb modem? It's a speectouch 330. I read gateways and dns aren't even needed when using this type of modem. Does anyone know if this is true?
Thanks for the help |

UPDATE: I've now got the RSS news feeds and the weather working by setting the gateway and DNS in my Xbox settings as the IP for the PC and thought this would solve the Xlink problem but it hasn't. Any other ideas? |

Is Kai enabled in XBMC? Are the IP, User Name and Password entered correctly (in XBMC)?

Hum...
Are there any firewall installed on the PC running Kai (probably irrelevant since it was working with the previous XBMC)?
Do you still have a previous version of XBMC on your Xbox (I always keep the previous un a folder called PrevXBMC, just in case) to try to connect with it?
Other than that, I'm stumped.

Just windows firewall but i've tried with that switched off. I haven't got a previous version of XBMC but i like the MC360 skin so i'm kinda hoping to get it working on that. Oh well. I'll keep searching and trying. I'm sure something will come up in the end. Thanks for the help.
