Ok, here's the deal.
I connect to Kai on my pc no problem, search for games on xbox, find em, try to connect and Kai shuts down and the PC running kai can no longer access the internet then I cry and punch the wall
The Xbox can still connect through my router as can another PC on the network. I have to restart the pc runnin kai in order for it to access my network again.
Worked fine before I got the router.
D link router with updated firmware
Static IP
Panda Platinum 7.0 av/firewall (when turned off same effect anyway)
I've uninstalled and reinstalled Kai and winpcap (including the other version i found somewhere in a help post on this site; alpha 301 maybe?)
I tried yelling at it and shaking my fist at it, that didnt work.
Any other info needed? Any ideas?
Thanks for reading |

Go into kaiConfig, and select the NIC which your PC uses to talk to the xbox. At the moment, it will be set to "Autodetect & Lock" - it's this autodetection which is restarting your PC..
Let me know..

When you upgraded to the DLink router did you enable a port forward for your PC running Kai? I've setup lots of DLinks for myself and friends and have always had to forward a port for almost all of their routers.
If you're unsure which port to use, 30000 is a good random one to pick. Just setup a port forward in your DLink router for port 30000 to go to the IP address of the COMPUTER running Kai. |

I already have port 30000 forwarded.
I did have it set to "auto detect and lock", switched it to select my nic card, still have the same problem of Kai shutting down and the computer running it can no longer access my network or the internet. |

I am going to guess it is your funky firewall software.
Wanna bet if you uninstall it Kai will run fine?
(grumble grumble dang software firewalls that use driver level protection!!! Kirro and now the Panda too!! who is Panda anyway??? At least Sygate allowed you to remove the driver level protection!)
Turning the firewall off is not enough, uninstalling it should clear up the problems. |

Yeah, that was the next step I was gonna take. It sucks cause I love the Panda.http://www.pandasoftware.com/home/default.asp
I dont want to have to go back to Norton cause the 2004 was more of a pain but I'll figure somethin out. I'll report back with that in a couple hours. |

WinXP SP2 firewall will do just fine.
I wouldent worry about puting another firewall on especially if you have a router and the internet is not directly connected to the net. |

As much as you may not like the idea of it, your firewall could very well be the source of your problem. I remember users of the Kerio personal firewall had these same problems and they actually had to remove the software in order for Kai to work. A workaround has since been found for Kerio. Perhaps there's hope for the future for you and Panda.. but for now I'd say try uninstalling it and see what happens. |
