Here is my problem in its entirity, thanks are in advance.
I have downloaded the xbmc kai guide, red over a literal 50 times, i have the engine running on my computer, ports forwarded, i have the xbmc kai setting configed (password, engine i.p address, username) i have the cables all connected properly, my xbox and computer both have internet running into them.
The kai feature on xbmc despite all my efforts and trys to get it working refuses to connect, the exact message it gives me is
(The service is not connected, would you like to attempt reconnecting it with xbox media center?)
again, i have read the guide in its enterity, and have searched and read other users posts and help topics to find an answer, but to no avail i have found no solution to this problem on my own unfortunatly.
So i would be forever grateful if someone could help me get xbmc kai running so i can play it. Thanks for any help, and ill answer any questions you may have about my problem.
Thanks for any and all help with my issue,
Crusade102
EDIT
I fixed my problem, but now when i join games, no games show? |

Its really odd, and really crappy.
You have to have this thing setup a certian way, you have to have this setup
Dsl to router
Pc to router
Xbox to router
If its not setup exactly that way, it wont do squat, also some games dont show while using this, reason perhaps to make a modded version. |

If this helps then cool... here's what I did having had the same trouble:-
Use the 360 skin and go to system tab
Make sure Network it is set to Automatic [DHCP]
dont know if it makes a difference but I also have the following selected...
Enable Internet Lookups [yes]
Enable RSS Feeds [yes]
On the Servers tab I have the following:-
Enable FTP Server [yes]
FTP User Name [xbox] (unless you've changed the default?)
FTP Password [xbox] (unless you've changed that too!)
Auto Fatx Limiter [yes]
Enable Web Server [yes]
Web Server Port [80]
Web Server Password [No Pass]
On the Autodetection tab I have everything selected
I didn't touch anything on the SMB Client tab
On the UPnP tab I have Autostart [yes]
Go back out to the system tab and select My Programs, then kai settings and make sure Enable Kai is [yes]. Enter your Kai username and password and MAKE SURE the Engine IP address is your computers IP..
go to the command prompt and type ipconfig... get the address from there (sorry if this is like tryin to teach you to suck eggs but I thought I'd make sure).
you already have the kai engine setup according to the manual we both read a hundred times lol ... just make sure that is running before you boot XBMC.... just start the kai engine and reboot XBMC
I hope you sort it out - you might already have done considering the time between posts but hey, I read it and thought I might be able to offer some assistance
Good Luck |
