Forcing Kai to run an older version

I'm currently having trouble with the newest version of Kai running on my machine. Is there any way to configure or trick Kai into using an older version of the launcher without it wanting to update itself? As far as I know, the engine, UI, and config apps will all run fine. The Launcher is what is giving me trouble at the moment.

As one option, if there is a way to make the engine launch without using the launcher app, please let me know!

There's no way to run older versions. They're incompatible. What is wrong with the launcher?

As I posted in an earlier topic, it quits complaining about KERNEL32.DLL. This error could be bypassed if I could access and run the Engine independently. I use the UI on another computer which contacts this one.

I understand that Windows 95 is an out-of-date operating system, but my question is OS-independent.

Is there any way to make the engine launch without using the Launcher program? I do not need the UI or Config to work (I previously configured the settings when an older version was working).
