do you have a problem with cheaters VOTE

i really wish something could be done about the assholes that play halo, i mean whats the point of playing if you got to cheat to win there is no skill in it. i have also noticed that there are alot of ppl joining my games i am hosting and then demanding to play a different game type, and if i dont change the game type or rules they deley the game to the point where i either have to temp ban them(if i have a private room set up) or exit the game and start a new one. sometimes even when i start a new game beacuse of this these people just follow me around just to be an asshole. some nights it gets so bad i just turn off the xbox.

i think its great ppl found a way to mod halo2, but there are servers set up specifically for that type of game or put it in your game discription. these are not the people i refer to as assholes.

i really wish something could be done to flatout stop people from cheating or being assholes in game play. unfortantly i dont see a way to. ive seen people complaing about cheaters and mods/admins say get "proof" and they will be baned. i think this is a great idea. ban all the cheaters. but.... not everyone has a way to provide proof of cheaters(including me but i will be buying a dvd recorder), also (im not shure if xlink uses ip banning or not) if you just ban someones sn its just gonna modivate them to creat a new one and be even more of an asshole on xlink. if xlink has ip banning i would say that if someone is intelegent enough to be able to cheat at halo they also would be able to change there ip address also.

so unfortantly i dont see a solution to this problem and i really wish there was one

Wrong once we ban them there gone for good. they cant create a new tag cause they arnt able to get on the site. And to get proof see if one of your friends on kai like me TU Apache or TU jiffy whip who have capture cards and are really good at capturing cheaters to ur arena thell get the proof and send it to us and well handel it from there.

so say in theory if like im at college and there are like 4 people using the computer and xlink and one of them gets banned it would affect everyone even with different xlink tags from accessing your site. and im sorry if you ban someone there is always away around it if you know what your doing. i have a static ip address that changes every couple of days so ip blocking would not be really effective. also dont you think it would be wrong to block ip address by range given the fact that you my ban someone that has done nothing wrong

Yes in theory if ya fuck up, everybody else at that address is fucked.
Personally i'd just ban them from your arena. Unless its really REALLY obvious like them jumping super high, or running super fast, they won't ban anyone. I once had a video of someone jumping high with a beefed up BR, and Link wanted another video on it. Its a joke really, so I don't do it anymore, its not worth the hassle. They definately need someone who knows something reviewing the videos.

Best advice is just to do what we've always done. Ban them from your arena, and remember their kai tag. So next time ya see them, ya just ban them again. Smile

I wouldn't say its a huge problem really, unless theres some uber-group of modders that have a code of silence on kai (doubtful) I think most people that mod are lone players. Theres also a bunch of people recording games either for their own amusement or to catch modders so they'll get caught our eventually.

Personally I play on known hosts (to me) that I trust and am open to new hosts. The main thing for me is getting yourself known online (even casually) to players to enjoy gaming together. You dont have to have a full friends list but just knowing the guys+gals can help...

Stick to private arenas, if the host allows a modder to play even after you point it out leave and find somewhere else.... Wink

it is a big problem every time i play i usually have to quit my game or ban several people cause of cheaters and most people do have static ip address dynamic ip address are more expensive and most people dont need them even if you have an dynamic ip address its still possible to change it or at least make xlink think you changed it

You are confusing static and dynamic. Static means it stays the same. Dynamic means it changes frequently.

Well, there are lots of cheaters but i dnt see them anymore really since i play in private arenas, they just mainly play in the publices so u cnt find they xtags, just get more well known like wiggy said and then u get into commnuities of friends and trusted players

man, this is like thr 3rd topic u made about cheaters man, if u see a chater let someone know with a video card to catch them then thay get banned. I never had a problem with cheaters if a cheat comes in ur room just ban them.

everyone needs to face it and the mods/admins need to admit it there is and will be nothing that can be effectly done to make people stop cheating on xlink so dont waste you time with getting video proof by getting the cheaters baned you are only making there cause stronger

and i would like to know who the 5 people are that have never seen/played with cheaters on xlink
