Airport Extreme

Is this absolutely essential to use kai with a Mac. I checked on apple's site and it costs $180. I am in desperate need of something to do becuase I only have two games and they're both boring.

if im not mistaken the wifimax works with a mac and is alot cheaper than that ..

In one of the guides, it said you needed one.

maybe on the guide you were reading they were referring to the airport extreme BUILT-IN in ibook/powerbook/macbook. Can you post a link to it so i can double check?

I personally own a powerbook with airport included, but i still have to test it. im trying to work it out on my pc but, even if i would try on my mac that wouldnt change for you as you are trying not to use airport extreme. Im thinking about buying a wifimax pen: if ill do, ill try it with my powerbook as well and report to this post.

EDIT: afaik the only problem is that you need a usb wifi pen which supports promiscuous mode.
