Hi everybody,
sorry to ask you all, but I now tried every possibility to get the PS2 configured. All manuals, troubleshooters etc. were studyied.
Even the connection finder was tried.
So, the problem: PS2 was found, but couldn't be configured.
My setup (the one that is probably the easiest to get it started):
PC with static IP 192.168.0.101 is wired to router, which goes to DSLmodem.
PS2 is wired to PC itself and has the 192.168.0.104.
All the same subnet. PC can Ping the PS2.
DHCP on the router AND on the PC are turned of.
No firewalls.
I go to the WFC-Screen and then Xlink (so the ConnectionFinder does too) finds the PS2 but failes to configure.
Network is reachable too.
So, has anybody any suggestions what else could be wrong there?
Thanks a lot for supply !

So, ok. I read this manual.
I deleted as told the static IP and entered the new IP to the PS2.
In my case it is a 10.253.x.x.
I put as SubNet the 255.255.255.0 because the IP-Finder shows me only the IP but not the Subnetmask.
At this state, with no DHCP on, my networkcard shows me for the connection IP 0.0.0.0, same for subnet.
The ConnectionFinder-Tool doesn't find the PS2 now at all.
So worse than before, no connection is is shown in XLink.
Hmm, what exactly do I have to write at the TCP/IP-Properties of my networkcard?
Perhaps, you or someone else can answer me that.
Besides, thanks a lot for giving me support so fast. Really nice ! |

So, I read the manual _twice_.
And, I forgot to restart!
Now everything works fine.
I thank you guy a lot and a lot and a lot.
Really really nice.
It's a bit overwhelming but after 10 hours trying and trying I am glad that guys like _you_ can give me the needed hint.
Have a nice time. |
